Chapter 85. Truth Hurts

There was a moment of silence for a brief of a second until I can hear Kai's sigh, "Please tell me the truth, Taeyeon," He said that made me look up at him and raise my brows, "Do you love him?" My heart.. starts beating so fast when I saw Kai's serious expression.

"W-what.. what d-do you m-mean? W-who?" I stutter. I almost got deaf because of the loud beatings of my heart which blocked my hearing sense. He sigh again and place his hands over my shoulders, "Baekhyun. Do you love Baekhyun?" He asked while squeezing me by the shoulders that hard. My eyes bulge open by that question, "W-why are you askin–", "Just answer the damn question! Do you love him!?" I flinch on my position when Kai shouted in front of me. My body shaken and my hands trembled in fear as it got cold at the same time.

All my stay beside Kai, this is only my first time to hear him shout like this in front of me. I don't know why but I can feel my eyes got watery and blurry as I tried to move my eyeballs just to see his expression. My mouth's trembling to open, trying to search for some possible words if what am I going to answer with his will.

"J-jong–" I was cut by my own words when Kai pulled me in his arms all so sudden. It feels like the time turned into a slow motion when my head landed flat on his chest, landing my right hand at the same time. Kai's heartbeat is so fast which I can hear its sound loud and clear. Taeyeon whimpered and didn't hesitate to crumple Kai's blazer slowly. "I-I.. I-I'm so sorry.. I-I'm so sorry for shouting at you," His voice shaken and tightened his grip from hugging Taeyeon.

As he said those apology, I can't hold back my tears but to let them fall down like a rain, gulping down a lump on my throat just to prevent some single sobs, "I'm so sorry Taeyeon, I didn't mean to do it.. p-please," He repeated. I have nothing to say.. I was traumatized. "I do love him.." I whisper to myself between my sobs. It accidentally slipped from my mouth. Hoping that Jongin didn't hear just a single word.

My tears continue in falling from my eyes down to my cheeks. Why does my heart always stings when I heard Baekhyun's name? It's like.. I was stabbed by a sharp knife! Where in the world did I got these? Why am I hurting inside? Why?

Slowly, Kai pulled Taeyeon from the hug and witnessed that her face is blocked with water of tears. Kai cupped her cheeks with his bare hands and stared intently into her eyes. I stare back despite of the blurriness, preventing for another batch of tears to fall down anytime soon. But I failed, they are once a hardheaded, I can't hide this anymore. Especially that Jongin is now right in front of me.

He wiped my tears away using his thumb and flashed a small close-mouthed smile, "I-I'm so sorry.. I'm sorry for what I've did, Taeyeon. P-please forgive me," I stared at his eyes for how sincere he was to said those simple apology. I unknowingly smiled and touched his right cheek and rub it using my thumb, "Apology accepted," Kai finally flashed his original smile but it made my eyebrows furrow when his image turns out that Baekhyun is now in front of me.

I smiled when I felt his grip tightened from cupping my cheeks. Baekhyun..

Kai lend in to lower Taeyeon's forehead and planted a soft and sweet kiss on her forehead as he closed his eyes. After those, he hugged Taeyeon once again, the latter did the same and hugged Kai back, "I love you." She unknowingly muttered.

Baekhyun's POV

Baekhyun headed to the rooftop to practice his solo stage while humming the song. An earphones were plugged on his ears. Listening to his own song and nod his head to feel the beat. But since the volume was in a low level, he can clearly hear some faint voices from inside the rooftop. My eyebrows furrow together as I stop the music. Removing the earpieces in my ears as well.

I take my steps closer through the door and lean my ear softly. I can hear voices, and it sounds so familiar. I slowly twisted the doorknob and make a small hole for me to peek my one eye. I look all around and tried to find out if where were that voices came from.

But that made my eyes enlarge when I saw two familiar persons, "Kai.. T-taeyeon..?" I whisper, looking at the scene. Taeyeon.. I didn't know that she's here. But what is Kai doing here as well? That made my heart crashed into pieces when Kai's hugging the crying Taeyeon. Why is she crying? Did Kai do something wrong towards her?

Any moment, he pulls away from the hug and cupped her cheeks. Baekhyun's eyes can easily be witness that it seems to be hopeless after what he saw. But despite of those pain, he continued to eavesdrop as he felt the tiredness in his eyes. Like he wanted to give up, but scratch that, he's still keeping his bravery for the next happening.

That even teared his heart into pieces when Kai kissed Taeyeon's forehead before pulling her into a hug once again. But what's more worst is, "I love you." From Taeyeon's mouth with a smile on her lips. I step back away from the door, with my mouth hanging loss.

I placed a hand on my chest. I became deaf after what I heard. Without any second thoughts, he ran away from the building and went to the place where he can wash his anger away. The west lake.

And from there, he fall onto his knees, letting his secret tears were now revealed. He's punching his chest with a fist, punching the ground and whatnot until his fist got bleed and wounded. But the pain and wound weren't enough of what my heart experience right now. My heart's wound was deep and it's bleeding unstoppably.

I'm such a fool! I'm too late! She's taken away from me.. I-I.. I thought I even have a chance.. b-but what now when I know and witnessed everything? Truth Hurts,

Taeyeon loves Kai..
