Two Red Strings

Chapter 23

"Doesn't Ange have like two cats?" He quizzed. "They're always in her room." She commented. Suddenly, Zwei started barking, but not at Ethan. He let Camellia down before he pulled out a torchlight and shone it over the canine. Zwei was barking at a bush.

Ethan kicked a rock into the bush and a figure shot up. "Argh! Goddammit! Right in the nose!" They heard Myosotis. He shone his light over and revealed their friend. Myosotis was covering his nose, agitated. Then he was covering his eyes with his other hand. "Ethan, I know you're doing that for your own amusement." The male brunette growled as Ethan playfully shone the light at his face. "Camellia?" Angelina stood up, with the help of their classmate.

"Where did you go? We were worried for you." She asked. The Russian let Camellia stand on her own as the redhead struggled to walked over. She squinted to look at Camellia's new outfit. "When did you change?" Angelina asked. "Where's Magnolia?" The copper brunette changed the subject. The former let out an exasperated sigh. "Over here!" They turned to Angelina's right and saw the snow haired girl, with the other brunette boy and the yellow themed girl. "Yo, Wolfsbane." Ethan called. She waved. Zwei barked happily as she approached.

"Why do you have a dog?" Magnolia asked. "I... found it...?" Camellia muttered. "We should leave the forest. It's too dangerous. Moonlit Lake should be around here. Levi said to meet him there." Magnolia added, walking in another direction. Ethan carried Camellia in his arms once more. "Screw you." She growled, but the Russian ignored her.

Everyone followed the Luna to the lake which felt like forever. "Are we there yet?" Ethan asked. "And don't tell me we're almost there 'cos you said that about five minutes ago." He warned. "We're almost there." Magnolia said it on purpose. He grumbled. "So Cam, where did you run off to?" Angelina asked. She kept quiet. "Can I tell you after this whole thing?" Camellia asked. The redhead let out another exasperated sigh, annoyed with her housemate's attitude.

Before long, they came across a large water body with a waterfall at the tall cliff nearby. "A beautiful night, tonight." Ethan commented, putting Camellia down onto her feet. He looked up to the moon. Everyone looked up at it as well. Myers sensed that something was wrong. Suddenly, warriors surrounded them as they cocked their guns. The Russian pulled out a pistol from his holster that hung behind him. Everyone backed to the center as Magnolia stood her ground.

In front of her, a group of warrior wolves parted for a blonde to be seen. "Zoloto..." she growled. Aurora chuckled. "Oh, how pitiful, Wolfsbane. How's your father? Oh wait, he's dead!" She cackled. 'Goddamn brat of a bitch...' Lacrimosa growled. The members of Golden Bell burst into laughter.

"Well sorry to burst your bubble but, mi padre is alive and well, puta." Magnolia did a shooing gesture. Aurora growled. She snapped her fingers, silencing her men. "Big talk coming from a tiny girl like yourself." She growled. "I'm at least 5'5" in height, FYI." The former retorted. "Not your tiny girl anymore." The latter growled, even lower and angrier. "Now that you're all here, we have no use for him." She snapped her fingers and a warrior threw a bruised Jordan to the front.

"Jordan!" Ethan and Myosotis cried, helping the Eurasian up to his feet and bringing him closer to the humans. "Sorry guys, didn't expect this to happen." He groaned. "And Myers, I'd really like you." Aurora pouted, with her honeyed voice. "But then you had to betray me." Her eyes flashed amber. "You deceived me, Zoloto." Myers growled, reminding her that she had a mate. She chuckled, snapping her fingers once more. Camellia felt like snapping her fingers off.

The warriors grabbed everyone except Magnolia. "Let go of us!" Angelina struggled. Myers and Myosotis tried resisting, but it was futile. The rest didn't resist, knowing that they were overpowered. "What do you want? They have nothing to do with this." Magnolia snarled. "I'm just letting them stay out of our little battle." Aurora sheepishly grinned. "Fight! Fight! Fight!" The warriors chanted. "Magnolia! There's no need for this!" Angelina protested.

Camellia looked down at Zwei, who covered his ears. She looked up and saw the clouds clearing up to reveal the full moon. "A fight to the death." She heard Aurora. She looked straight, just in time to see both of the Luna's shifting. 'Winner takes all.' Lacrimosa growled. 'So be it.' Glenn snarled, circling. Lacrimosa followed, just before leaping over the warriors and sprinting off into another direction. Glenn followed behind. Two other wolves followed. "3-on-1 huh?" Myers snarled.

Suddenly, someone fire multiple shots in a quick succession, giving everyone a fright. In that moment, Xiăo Lóng writhed herself out of her captor's grasp and slashed her Dao at him, fighting back. Ethan headbutt his captor before slamming his pistol into his skull. The other warriors shoved the other teenagers onto the ground before sprinting off into another direction. The group turned and saw Feliciano blowing away smoke from the muzzle of his gun.

"Vargas, you haven't answered my question from yesterday." Myosotis reminded. "What are you doing here?" He questioned. "Well, I wasn't supposed to be here, but Zio Tiberio insisted I come." He explained. "Amber Claw Beta, has my father arrived?" Xiăo Lóng asked Feliciano. He shook his head. "When we were attacked, no. I supposed that he's fine." He assured.

Then, they heard another wolf howl. "Is that an ally?" Angelina asked, facing the source, getting up. Myosotis supported Jordan as they stood up. "No. That's Coffin, and it's the Alpha." Myers muttered. Zwei whimpered.

"We should move." The wolf-shifter added, turning his back on the group. Myosotis handed Jordan over to Feliciano before he threw a punch at Myers. "Like hell we're gonna believe you!" Myosotis yelled as his twin fell to the ground. "It's your fault that we're in this mess!" He snapped. Myers slowly stood up, only to be pushed down by his twin again.

"How about this? Be a hero and stop Coffin, and stay away from all of us. Especially my girlfriend!" The atmosphere darkened. Myers lowered his head as a grin appeared on his face. "You still think that you're Magnolia's only mate?" They heard a different voice. The milk brunette lifted his head and revealed a pair of pale blue eyes. "Naive as you appear. Your brother is giving good advice but you throw it away like it was nothing." Astra chuckled. "Myers?" Ethan called.

Astra turned. "Astra. I'm Myers's wolf." He introduced himself. "As what Myers had said, we should move." He walked into another direction. Feliciano supported Jordan and followed the wolf-shifter. Ethan carried Camellia in his arms once more. He turned to Myosotis. "Myo, we'll deal with this after it's over." He added, leaving. Myosotis reluctantly followed.
