Chapter 4

Hinata awoke early in the morning, drool trickling along his pillow and curling from the end of his lip.

It had already been a week since the accident and there hadn't been a single day that Hinata didn't go to the hospital. In the beginning he had tried to go to practice before he would head off and visit, but he just couldn't focus, and he wasn't very pleasant to be around if he needed cheering up. Sugawara and Daichi had tried to lighten him up a bit, even though they were almost just as sad on the inside, but to no avail. Each time he would just shut them out and get frustrated with his lack of progress during their practices. Suga would toss to him and he could still hit a majority of the spikes, but it just wasn't the same, and every time he would miss, it would be over something so large that he felt disappointed about it.
Everytime he made a mistake he would think about what Kageyama would say to him...

He got up and quickly made his bed, making sure to put the fast setter's jersey in his backpack. He slept with it every night. Never once did he let it slip through his fingers. And neither will he let Kageyama.

He changed his clothes and brushed his teeth, grabbing his backpack on his way out the door, as he said goodbye to his sister who was playing with her friend in the yard.

He hopped onto his bike and rode down to the hospital to visit Kageyama today.

==============

After he locked up his bike, he strode in through the automatic doors in the front of the building.

"Good morning, Shouyou." A young nurse greeted him.

"Good morning, Maki. How is he today?" He asked as he pressed his palms against the rim of the cold counter.

"The same as usual... You're more then welcome to go and see him."

"Arigatou. Have a great Saturday."

"You too."

He walked down the hall and up to the elevator, making his way to Kageyama's room. He peaked his head in and the first thing he looked at was the heart monitor; same as every other time he visits.

"Hi Kageyama-kun~"

He jumped in through the door and walked up to the foot of his bed, placing his backpack on the floor beneath the chair, right after grabbing the jersey from the loose pocket.

"I brought your jersey back!" He smiled in the sunlight that had been peeking through the open blinds. "I'm sorry that I had it for so long. I took it on accident... And I didn't really want to bring it back, but it's okay. You'll wake up soon so I don't need it anymore."

He neatly refolded the large shirt and placed it on the chair. Then he hopped up on the foot of the bed, crossing his legs as he brightly smiled and looked down at Kageyama's face that remained resting in front of him.

"Everyone misses you by the way. I know that if you could go and see them right now you'd be tackled with endless hugs, even by Tsukishima." He lightly laughed. "And then you'd probably yell at me for my lack of practice lately. I go when I can sometimes, but it's just not the same without you, and I'd rather be here and see you for a longer time everyday. I want to make sure that you're all caught up on what's been going on lately when you wake up."

He looked down at his face. He had much more color then a few days ago, he had looked so pale then. His cheeks even looked slightly flushed, which became much more noticeable because of his shiny black hair that couldn't seem to stay unstuck from the teenagers slim face.
