Chapter 1: Connie Becomes a Gem

(Steven's pov)

          I was getting ready for a mission I was doing by myself tomorrow and I was really exited. I had food and a sleeping bag and a tent prepared because it was gonna be a 3 day trip. All of a sudden I heard my phone ring. I looked at it and it was a call from Connie I answered it and said "hey connie what's up?" And she excitedly replied with "guess what Steven? The first book in the unfamiliar familiar series has a movie adaptation and it's gonna be on tv tonight!" My face lit up.
           "Wow! Do you wanna come over and watch it!?" I asked filled with excitement. "Let me ask my parents" she said then there was a silence for about two minutes as I eagerly awaited the response then she came back and said "good news they said yes! I'll be over in an hour" and she hung up.
          I started preparing for the movie. I popped some popcorn, I set up the tv, and I cleaned up the place then peridot walked in and asked "hey Steven what are you doing?" I looked over and replied "oh hi peridot im getting ready to watch a movie with connie" she looked confused "is this connie the girl who came to your birthday party" then I realized "peridot you haven't formally met her yet have you." "No I haven't" she replied. I smiled and said "well I'll introduce you when she arrives" she turned around and walked back to the bathroom she liked being in there for whatever reason.
          All of a sudden there was an earthquake and I saw the gems fighting a weird humanoid gem monster that had skin familiar to a centipeetle exept it was blue. "I'll help you guys!" I yelled as I summoned my shield and jumped at it. I knocked it to the side with my shield but then it smashed me on the ground luckily I summoned my bubble just in time then I saw it target the amethyst and pearl and garnet so I jumped in front of them and enlarged my shield an then I saw connie walk up

(Connie's pov)

          I walked to Steven's house to see steven struggling to protect the gems from the monster. "Steven!" I yelled in worry for steven "dont worry I've got this!" He yelled but I knew that as a lie. Then lion came over to me and his mane glew and I reached for the steven's mother's sword. I remembered pearls training "keep my stance wide, keep my body lowered" I whispered to myself then I charged at the monster.
          I hit the monsters knee then it focused it's attention on me and steven rested. I roled to it's other side and I slashed it's hand off then it attacked me with its other arm but I dodge rolled out of the way and it's fist was stuck in the sand and it tried to pull it's fist out. "The bigger they are! The harder they fall!" I yelled as I cut its hand and it fell into the sand with a loud boom and a large gust of wind that knocked me off my feet. I got up then cut its head off and it poofed. I tried to grab the gem that was left but then all of a sudden it dissappeared.

          I woke up inside steven's house with everybody staring at my chest for whatever reason. I looked down to see a blue Topaz on my chest it was the same one from the monster I killed. "How... how is this possible?" I asked.
          "It seems you have somehow absorbed the gem of that monster and yu have become a human gem hybrid like steven" I looked at the gem so exited that I was now fully involved with the same magic stuff as steven was but then I realized
          "how am I gonna tell this to my parents" then steven put his hand on my shoulder and said "dont worry about it connie for now lets just watch the movie" steven reassured me with a smile. Everyone left me and Steven alone and we watched the movie but even though steven reassured me I was still scared of what my parents would think.... to be continued
