1. The problem of pornography is just as rampant in the Muslim community as it is outside of it.
2. While it is more common among men, pornography is also viewed by a staggering number of women.
Many Muslims start watching out of curiosity, duped into thinking this is what intimacy looks like in a marriage.
Here's what you should know...
1. Pornography is simply entertainment TV, not reality TV. It is not a documentary, it is absolutely fake.
2. It creates unrealistic expectations and misperceptions regarding sexual responses and desensitizes real sexual pleasure.
3. It strips the person of the most important aspects of intimacy - and that is the emotional and spiritual. What makes intimacy desired between a husband and wife is the love between them. When intimacy is stripped down to just the physical, it becomes unfulfilling and even depressing.
And of course, pornography is without a doubt haram!
