I was awakened by the sudden jolts and weird mumbling next to me.
"Ethan?" I whispered, trying to see next to me.
"NO!" Ethan shouted as he sat straight up in the bed, panting and sweating.
"Ethan" I reached over for his hand, but couldn't find it. I looked over and saw him covering his face.
He was crying.
"Baby" I wrapped my arms around his forearm.
"Y/N, you're safe" he spoke shaky as he wrapped his massive arms around my waist, pulling me tightly into his chest.
"I'm okay Ethan" I replied. "It was just a dream"
He sniffles twice.
"I love you so much" he whispered as he whipped his face quickly, then tightly grasped me again.
"I love you too" I said, stroking the back of his neck, helping him calm down.
I didn't know what his dream was about, and I didn't want to ask. But whatever it was, it seemed very scary to him.
I finally dosed off after calming him down. I rested my head on his chest as he rubbed my pack.
"I'm always going to protect you" was the last words I heard before I finally fell asleep.
