You stood uncertainty next to Newt as the boy tapped Thomas's shoulder to wake up. Thomas opened his eyes almost immediately. "Get up, ya lug" Newt greeted, his tone suggesting that he to was tired. Why wouldn't he be? You thought, cautious of the uncomfortable feeling between you legs. Okay maybe it was more than a little uncomfortable, but you were just going to leave it at that. Thomas yawned, "Yeah, good morning to you, too. What time is it?"
"Seven o'clock, Greenie" Newt gave a mocking smile, "Figured I'd let ya sleep in after such a enough couple of days"
Thomas rolled into a sitting position. You smiled, "Morning, Thomas"
Thomas smiled, "Good morning, Y/S/N" he said with a little to much enthusiasm, giving Newt a look, trying to prove a point. You cackled, "Come on sleepy head, you've had your sleep in" you continued,
Thomas blinked, "Sleep in? What are you guys, a bunch of farmers?"
Newt smiled, plopped himself down on a seat, "Uh...yeah, now that you mention it" he stayed silent for awhile then some again, "Gonna out ya with the Track-hoes today, Greenie. See if that suits your fancy more than slicin' up bloody piggies and such"
Thomas sighed, clearly annoyed, "Aren't you supposed to quit calling me that?"
Newt frowned, "What, bloody piggies?" You burst out laughing,
"Your quick today, aren't you Newt" you teased, knowing fully well you were in the same state.
Thomas forced a laugh and shook his head, "No, Greenie. I'm not really the newest Newbie any more, right? The girl in the coma is. Call her Greenie - my name's Thomas." His eyes grow distant as he thought of the girl. Probably confused over the whole thing, you thought.
Newt leaned back in his chair, eyebrows raised, "Burn me - you grew some right nice-sized eggs over night, now didn't ya?"
Thomas seemed to ignore him and moved on, "What's a Track-hoe?"
"It's what we call the guys work in' their butts off in the Gardens ' tilling, weeding, planting and such" Came the reply.
Thomas looked in the direction of the Gardens, and nodded towards it. "Who's the Keeper?"
"Zart" You answered, for Newt, wondering if Thomas was delaying getting out of bed, or was actually curious.
Newt grinned at you, before explaining further, "Nice guy, as long as you don't sluff on the job, that is. He's the big one that stood in front last night"
Thomas rubbed his neck, his eyes filling with guilt. You felt sorry for him. He thinks it was his fault that Ben got banished. "So why'd you come and wake me up?"
Newt gave a pretend hurt look, "What, you don't like seeing my face first thing on the wake up?"
"Not especially. But-" he was cut off by the walls opening. The three you, looked over as Minho collected the collar and passed it to another Runner to put it back. "What the-?"
Newt cut him off, explaining, "Only seen three Banishments, Tommy. All as nasty as the one you peeped on last night. But every buggin' time, the Grievers leave the collar on our doorstep. Gives me the willies like nothing else"
The conversation was cut short, as Alby appeared, his eyes landed on you."You've run the maze before?" He asked, ignoring his second-in-command and the Greenie. You shook your head, "Haven't needed to. We've always had enough to run it"
Alby nodded, "Well you're coming with me anyway. Minho, you and me are going to have a look at the Griever"
But Gally needed me today. It was true, Gally told you about a week ago, that he would need help next week and you told him, you would help. You nodded, feeling a twist tighten painfully in your stomach. "Alright" you managed uncertainty. Newt glared at Alby, "Why is she to go?" He asked unemotionally, different from his slightly annoyed and angry facials. Alby sighed, "Y/S/N is capable. She has studied those maze maps, she can run, she is smart. She'll be fine" the last part surprised you, he was reassuring him, he was sympathizing. Newt grunted, "Fine"
Alby nodded at you, "Minho will give you the running gear. Meet him in the Map Room and get a quick bite to eat. We head out before breakfast"

F/N felt her life hovering. It was a life or death situation. Were she to fight for life? Or give into the darkness embrace to die?
It was simple: The voice wasn't going to allow either.
It had saved her, but it did it to drive her on the brick of pain - testing. So she must remain in the gray world of in-between. Where death's embrace held her in it's outstretched hands, questioning why it was there and so he stays to wait for the answer. The world was suffocating, where death's answer began to reveal, and it began to pull, but tthe voice would ever leave her alone.
Stay.
That was the simple plea. It haunted her in the darkness of oblivion.
"Why?" She whispered, although her body did not move. This was the in between world.
Stay. Revenge.
Revenge. That is one of reasons she had to fight. She wasn't going to follow the voice's command, she wasn't going to give into it - she had to make it think that this was her choice.
"Can't you revenge me?" She rasped, hearing the echoing of her question in the layer of grayness.
I have no reason to revenge.
"There is a reason to revenge, if I were to beg to you revenge for me"
That is if I accept to revenge you.
"Do it" if it were possible, F/N swore she felt a tear run down her face.
No, your anchor to life is revenge. You saw to that.
F/N whimpered, "Leave me"
Not until revenge is fulfilled.
