F/N sighed as Sonya sat down beside her. "Come on F/N, cheer up!"
F/N sighed again, but more dramatically. "It's the same old, same old bonfire we have had for every new girl that comes up in that box"
Sony shrugged, "It's special F/N, it's a time to loosen up - have fun"
F/N shook her head, "We celebrate someone's doom?"
Sonya looked uncertain, "F/N" she sighed, "there is still hope, everyday you and the other runners look, we - us gladers - are taking another step towards freedom"
F/N put her head into her hands, "I see no change Sonya. I'm the keeper of the Runners, they look for me for support and yet I can't lie to them, they're like sisters to me"
Sonya smiled, "Sisters do lie to each other"
F/N looked sharply at the girl, "Yeah, bu-"
"But what, F/N?" She pulled herself into a more comfortable position on the ground, "Look F/N, they look to Harriet, me, you, they look to every keeper okay - you aren't the only one feeling the pressure. There is always hope. Always. And I don't give a damn if it's hidden underneath a couple years on my life, I don't care. As long as I taste freedom in the end" She sighed happily, "you ever know if you find an exit tomorrow, or the next day or the week after or a year after... by we'll ever find it if we quit looking"
F/N felt lighter, much lighter. "Great quotes from Sonya, second-in-command!"
Sonya grinned, "I do believe Harriet is rubbing off on me"

"Were you nice?" You asked, opening the door to the homestead, knowing fully well that Gally didn't play nice. Why else would the Greenie give you a cold stare? He thought you were on Gally's side. Ha! Gally was surrounded by his group buddies, playing a board-game that the creators had sent up ages ago. Gally looked up, "Huh?" He asked stupidly, causing you to pull a are-you-stupid-face. "Were you nice to Greenie?" You asked again, slightly annoyed.
Gally shrugged, "You could say that" shooting a smirk to his friends told you otherwise.
You snorted, "The smug looks on your friends faces' tells me otherwise" you snapped, making a selective few of the boys to look uncertainty to their friends. Gally sighed, "Okay, mother. I'm so-"
"Sorry won't cut it!" You sneered, feeling your frown deepen. Whoa, these mood swings are brilliant! You sighed, trying to gather your raw emotions onto a tight leash, "Look Gally, that Greenie has done nothing to you. Nothin-"
Gally stood up sharply, challenging you with a angry glare, before dropping his head, "I've seen him before" he whispered hoarsely, finally meeting your eye, "I don't trust him"
You rolled our eyes, "Oh come on! Look at him!" You gestured wildly out the door, "Take a good look at him" Gally and his sidekicks looked out of the homestead, staring directly at the Greenbean. "Does that face look dodgy to you?"
"Yes" Gally muttered, looking away quickly, clutching his fists. "I've seen him before, Mother Y/S/N"
You nodded, "So you have said. The boy knows nothing about himself, to be able to hurt any of us. Just lay down the suspicion and let it be" You gave a gentle smile towards Gally, before exiting the homestead. "Hey Greenie and Chuck!" You called, making your way towards the two boys. Both turned around quickly, Chuck managed a 'Hey!' And the Greenbean managed a small uncertain smile. You sat beside them. "How's been the first hours of the Glade?" You asked, stretching your legs out.
The Greenie frowned, before answering truthfully, "It seems like it's been days"
You grinned, "Everyone's like that. Trust me. I broke down in tears when I came straight out of that box" Half the truth.
The Greenie seemed to relax, "Okay" he managed weakly, pulling out some grass, and unconsciously spin it between his thumb and index finger. You sighed, "Anyway it's the bonfire tonight, everyone one's invited an everyone has to attend" you offered and small shrug of the shoulders, feeling completely isolated you noticed the boy stared out into nowhere. "Look Greenie" you managed, clearing your throat. Chuck tugged on the boy's shirt. The Greenbean looked quickly towards you. How could that kid not suffer from whiplash all the time? "Yeah?" He grasped, embarrassed that he wasn't listening.
You sighed, "I good now. In the glade I mean. We have so many advances then we did when it was a selective few of us. Our timetable better organized, everything is better - we all have our place here. Now if you want to live in peace then you will find your place among us. That's all I have to say" you bite your lip, "But if you don't find your place, then your'll fin yourself in deep klunk with the 'big boss' Alby"

"How's Ben?" You whispered, sitting next to Newt, before kissing his cheek. He sighed, "I don't feel like talking about it" he replied distantly, still not bothering not to snap out of his trance and turn his mind on the bonfire. You sighed, taking note of his off mood. "Okay" you muttered, taking sip of Gally's secret recipe. You winced. God you'll ever get use to this bitter stuff. You coughed, causing Frankie and Winston to laugh. You gave a playful glare towards them, but made no other movement to give him what they truly deserved. A bash. You grinned, watching as the keepers brought in there touches, Frypan handing Newt one, before each one took a place around the bonfire, before the count down happen and they throw it in. Cheering, smiling, what brightened your month was happening and it felt great. You grinned, placing the bottle of secrets on the ground before walking over to Minho. "Hey, Minho" you greeted brightly. Minho returned the smile. "Hi, mother" sitting yourself down next to him, you greeted the other runners. "Hello everyone"
"Hey"
"Hi Y/S/N" came back in return, making a mental note how much the group was weighed down. "Yesh" you muttered sarcastically, "Well aren't you guys a lively bunch" Lively and happy bunch. Minho smiled, looking around the bonfire. "I think I once said the same to you not that long ago, what? Like eight days ago?"
Nick (not made up but I don't know where he belonged so) another runner added, "There are only one go week with females every month, with all this pre and after menstrual cycle, and don't even ask what in between, oof-" you slapped him hard in the stomach.
"Who told you that?" You shrieked, feeling the tip of your ears burn. You were honest sick of the boys picking on you because of that reason - you didn't even notice that your mood changed considerably, before and after, hence the reason why these boys tensed you so. Nick was about to reply when everyone raced over to the pit, calling, "Greenie, greenie, greenie" leaping to your feet you raced over, just catching the first movement of the fight. Gally and Greenie. Gally throw him into the group of Gladers who harshly pushed him back in, with cat calling and physically. You sighed, looking on the Gladers. A lot had grown so fast in such a short of time. I guess that's what our circumstances does to teenagers - ages them before their time. "Ow!" You snapped out of your trace, looking back into the pit, the Greenie lay on his back. It looked as though he received whiplash - finally - and he was winded. He rolled onto his stomach completely in a daze. The cheering quietened, as he stood. "Thomas" he muttered, "Thomas! That's my name!"
