You throw yourself up into a sitting position, it was dark. "Where am I?" You asked. The lights turned on, and Ava stood there. "Hmm" she hummed as she studied the results of a test. "Her brain is so similar to her father" she looked up and smiled seeing that you were awake, "Thank you for your cooperation Y/N" You raised an eyebrow, "I think you deserve to see someone special" she looked up to a camera that was obviously a security one. "Ask Mr L/N to come here" you frowned, and looked around you. The room looked more like a cell, on the far wall was your heart-rate, temperature and brain function showed of scales on modern screens, on the left wall was a set of drawers, and on the right wall, where you lay was a bed. The bed thankfully was comfortable. Ava approached you, "We just took a scan of your brain, as shown up there" she pointed to the far wall, she smiled, and you scowled, "Where am I?"
Ava's smile grow, "In a Science Lab"
"And where is that?"
She changed the subject, "Your brain shows positive and steady progress in learning, your friend showed the same" Newt?
Frowning you asked, "Who's my friend?"
Ava looked alarmed, "The boy, Newt of course"
You lowed your voice, "Newt was taken"
"Newt was supposedly taken, causing you into shock mode" She leaned closer, "We had to get you out of school without major concerns"
It suddenly hit you, "You mean that Newt was 'taken' so you could take me?"
She nodded, "But we wanted you both. You see that us why we just didn't take you, dear" Oh.
Someone entered the cell-like room. You looked over. "Doctor Ava you wished to meet me?" The voice was so similar. Ava straightened, "Mr L/N, I hope everything is well" he nodded. Dad? He answered, "They are making good progress, the boy Newt has found his name"
Ava dusted her hands, "He'll give Alby company" Newt. Ava then pointed to you, "Here is your daughter Mr L/N" he looked over.

"Dad?" You replied in a monotone. He walked over, before pulling you into an embrace. "I've missed you so much" You returned the embrace, noticing that you were crying, Do tears ever shop?! "I missed you too dad" Your dad straightened and turned to Ava, "You aren't thinking of putting her in the Glade are you?" You could tell he was fighting himself to remain calm and collected. In answer Ava replied, "She showed the same results as you, Mr L/N"
Your dad cleared his throat, "I can't allow you to do that"
Ava sighed, "The Flare is worsening, and we must find a cure"
He wrapped a protective arm around you, "I thought boys were to only go into the Glade"
Ava gave a grim smile, "I would pick your son, Doctor L/N - but his brain shut down in the testing" He's dead!
"No!" You cried,
Ava looked at you with empathy, "I'm sorry, we did everything to save him"

Your dad too you back to your apartments after you received the news of your brother. He's dead. Oh I'll miss you. Wiping away the tears, you spoke, "Why do you work to her, dad?"
He sighed, "To be honest with you, she offers a lot of money and a cure to save to world"
"From what?" You asked sharply.
"A disease" he looked around, "Called 'The Flare'"
You blinked, "I heard that is was a v-"
"Yes I know, it is" the radio on his belt buzzed. "Doctor L/N, report to the camera room"
"On it" he spoke into the radio, looking at you in concern.
"Oh an Doctor L/N? Don't bring your daughter"

Months later....

You sat across from you dad, glaring at him. "Why can't you still tell me where Newt is, dad? I mean I always hear his name, with other's as well - he's my friend" Your dad, tight lipped and white with anger replied coldly, "He s under our care, he'll be fine"
"I.want.to.see.him" you managed through gritted teeth. Then his radio buzzed again, like it did most of the time! You grunted and crossed your arms. "Doctor L/N you're needed in the camera room"
Your dad's jaw set, as he spoke into the radio, "I'm bring my daughter along"

The 'Camera room' was a room of heaps of protected screens from the Cameras of an area. You frowned peering closely at it. The area was boxed of by four walls, with an exit. Outside f these walls was a large maze. You whistled. You heard your dad chuckle behind you, "Big" he admitted, leaving you there. "What is it?" Your father asked towards a man at a screen. The man replied, "The boy Newt, he just climbed up one of the walls in the maze" you quickly came to your dad's side, gluing your eyes to the screen that the man pointed at. You grasped at the sight of Newt, his looked slightly thinner than before but that was Newt. Your lovely Newt. Newt was climbing up one of the walls, by a vine. Your father's voice interpreted your thinking. "What is he?"
The man replied lowly, "A runner"
Your dad sounded frustrated, "And he's going to throw himself off the wall?" Your heart dropped. No! He can't! You shook your head as your dad grabbed you by the shoulders and began to pull you away. "Don't look Y/N" you shook yourself out of his grasp.
"Newt?" You asked, tears running down your face.
Your father harshly grabbed your shoulders again, but it was too late. Newt was at the top, and looked below him. He sighed and throw himself. "No!" You cried. You father throw you to the ground before you could see the result and hissed, "Stupid!" He shook you, "Why?! That was stupid!" He snapped, the whole room became quiet as though they had watched Newt throw himself off. The man spoke, "He survived!" You were relieved. Your father straightened, "Y/N get out" he looked around, "Someone take her out"
