I frowned at her. "How do you know so much about them? Isn't it like Venatores business?"

She sighed. "Nothing is black and white Ally. But we don't need to discuss that, it's 8, and breakfast is ready."

"Good, I'm hungry."

I hopped out of bed and raced downstairs, grandma's laugh drifting behind me.

After I had breakfast and freshened up. Michelle took out her note pad and readied her pen.

"I want to hear everything."

So I told her. About his fast driving. The restaurant. The argument. The marigolds and Model Marie. How he kicked her and his 'acquaintance' Dario, who took her away to some place called Rocky Cay. I told her about our make out session and our goodbyes.

She didn't write a thing down.

"What was the point of the note pad then?"

She shrugged. "Anything else?"

"Well, he said he would visit me today. Oh and he encouraged me to talk to aunt Jessica."

"Are you going to talk to her?"

"Yeah... I need to."

"Well she's in the backyard." She said getting up. "Good luck." She skipped out of the room.

I got up and headed for the backyard.

I found her sitting on the bench, looking far out into the trees. Her hair was braided down her back aligning with her spine. She was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans shorts with sneakers. I sat next to her and hugged my elbows.

"Hi." I said.

"Hello." She didn't turn to look at me, she just kept staring.

I took a deep breath. "Can we talk?"

She shook herself out of her daze and gave me a tight smile. "Sure, let's walk and talk." She got up and started walking, leaving me no choice but to follow her.

"What do you want to talk about?" She asked when the house was out of sight.

"First... How are you?"

She let out a dark chuckle. "I'm walking on sunshine."

"Your sarcasm is unbearable. Seriously... How are you doing?"

"I'm not at my best, this place... Just makes me edgy."

Edgy? That's an understatement.

"What happened with you here? What did you do that was so horrible that the people here can't even look at you?"

"I guess it's time to tell you... I just don't know how you're going to take it."
