Alecia's PoV.

6 o clock came too fast for my liking. I was ready anyway, I just wanted more time to think.

What was I going to say? A group of teens? I'm gonna embarrass myself... I feel it in my toes.

"Ally!" Grandma called from downstairs. "Michelle is here!"

The time of dread has drawn nigh...

I sighed and with one last look in the mirror. Went downstairs.

"You look amazing!" Michelle said as she gave me a quick hug.
Why was she hugging me and why was she lying?

I had on dark jeans, a soft pink sweater and black combat boots. My hair was braided over my shoulder. I looked plain.
She looked amazing. Her make up was perfect...

"You look incredible. Your winged eyeliner is perfect." I said smiling.

"Thanks!" She said bouncing.

She's so bubbly...
"Come on! Let's go!" She said taking my arm and towing me through the door.
"Be back before 9 Ally!" My grandma shouted.
9? I was thinking 7:30 tops.

So. Many. People.

To be honest it couldn't be more than 20 persons. But since I was homeschooled my whole life, so many kids my own age was quite a sight.
There was a fire in the center of the yard, and surrounding wooden benches. Hamburgers and hotdogs were being eaten and there was a carefree feeling.

"Come on," Michelle said, "I'll introduce you to-"

"Hi Michelle!" We both turned around to see a boy jogging towards us. He brushed his dark hair out of his eyes.

"Hi Trey." Michelle said. "Trey, this is-"

"Alecia? Yeah I know Michelle." He said waving her off.

He was really good looking...

"How do you know my name?" I asked him. That works Ally...

"Small town." He said smirking. "And besides, everyone knows Mrs. Bloom."
He offered his hand and I shook it.

"Nice to meet you Alecia." He said.

"Ally, just Ally."

"Okay," he said, "so what everyone's talking about is you." He said jerking his chin in my direction.

"Trey..." Michelle said crossing her arms.

Trey held up his hands in surrender and smirked.
"C'mon Mich," he said, "we're all just curious."

I rolled my eyes. This isn't going to go well.

"Anyway, it's story time." He turned to me. "Hotdog or hamburger?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Hotdog," I replied.

"Be back soon." He rushed off.
I turned to Michelle. "Is he always like that?"

She grinned and shook her head. "Yes."

"Scary story!"
"No! Kingswood Legend!"
"Scary story!"

"Guys, guys, guys. Calm down. You're making us look bad in front of our newbie." Trey said gesturing to me.
I earned that nick name 10 minutes ago.

"Fine," said the boy to my far left. "I say let her pick." He turned to face me.
"Scary story or Kingswood Legend."

I want to punch you so bad...

I sighed. "Kingswood Legend."
Some whooped at me and others frowned.

He clapped his hands together once and leaned forward.

"Kingswood is so hidden that many people don't know it exists." He begins, "the elders here say it's because our ancestors needed somewhere like this. To hide. For they weren't human. Not entirely. The founders of Kingswood were wild. They were like nature itself. Unstoppable. They say that the founders were so close to animals that after time, they were able to morph into them. Transform into any passing creature. Birds, bears, mountain lions. Anything. They called themselves Shapeshifters. They didn't just hide here though, they protected it. Nature was untouched here, except for the paved roads. Everyone was free and wild. Until the Venatores showed up."

"Even the word sounds creepy..." A blonde girl said quietly.

"They hunted down the Shapeshifters. Killing them and their children. Not everyone in Kingswood had the ability to shift, so not everyone died. Since then, the Shapeshifters were wiped away. The Venatores? They stuck around. Some of them might be at this very bonfire..." He trailed off smirking.

"Knock it off Kyle." The blonde said shoving his shoulder lightly.
He turned to look at me. "And that's the Legend of Kingswood."

They all looked at me expectantly.
"Well?" Kyle asked, "what do you think."

"Honestly? I was hoping you'd tell me something about Kings and Queens being burned here and knights and Dragons."

They all laughed.

Michelle bumped my shoulder. "They like you..." she whispered.

I took a look around.
I guess they do.

Unknown PoV.
Alecia. Ally. Hm. Cute name.

I sat across from her and watched her take in the story. I could tell she believed it. Making that comment about Kings and Queens? That was smart of her.

I was heading home now. I decided to call The Chief.

"Alecia Allen. Grand-daughter of Theresa Bloom." I said as the ring tone stopped.

"Impossible." The Chief said.

"Not impossible. We just missed something..."

"I want you to find out what that something is."

"Oh, I intend to."

He hung up.

Theresa Bloom had three children.

Two are dead and the other is barren.

Where did this Ally person come from?
