Chapter 5: Back from Edolas

"But my magic is suited for battle!"

"No. You just want to be together with Levy!"

Gajeel scrunched his face up in disgust at them for fighting over her like she was just some prize to win. He walked up between them and pushed them aside, standing behind the bench facing Levy's back.

"If you really want to become an S Class wizard, then I'll lend you a hand." His deep voice, ringing out to her.

She whipped her head around to face him. "Gajeel!"

Jet and Droy both yelped in unison as their chances of being Levy's partner slipped from their hands.

Gajeel smirked down at her. "I'll just have to blow away any guy that gets in your way, right?"

She slouched over and her face returned to a frown. "But I've got a small body, and I'm not really good for anything... I might lose right away."

Gajeel grasped the back of her dress and held her up.

"Kyah! Hey let me down!" She protested while thrashing an arm up and down.

"Don't go soundin' so weak before it even started!"

"Ga-Gajeel let me down!" She whined.

His hand tensed up on her back and she froze and looked up at him. His face was very serious.

"I'll make you big" He beamed.

Levy stared at him and her cheeks were up in flames. She was blushing madly.

Jet and Droy slunched to their knees and cried like babies.

Lily had his arms crossed and nodded at Levy and Gajeel with a smirk on his face.

Gajeel steadily put Levy down and she patted her dress and scrunched her face up at him.

"Jeez, don't do that again." She snapped, crossing her arms and staring up at him.

"Gihi. But you're so light, and small, who wouldn't wanna pick you up?"

Levy blushed again and hid her face, glancing over at Natsu and Lucy who were arguing.

"We should head home and get some rest. I'll swing by tomorrow morning to walk you to where we'll be training." Gajeel suggested

She nodded and smiled up at him. "Great idea. I'll show you where I stay first so you know where to come get me."

He nodded down at her and they began walking out of the guild together.

"That lucky son of a gun.." Jet sighed, watching them leave together.

"Levy better be carfeul.." Droy murmured.

"She'll be just fine." Lily advised, flying away after Levy and Gajeel.

Gajeel was walking alongside Levy in silence.

"Thank you."

"Hm?" he turned his head to look at her. "For what?"

"For helping me with the exam, it means a lot. Plus your impeccable strength fills up the void for my scrawny self.. hehe" She chuckled nervously.

"Why you gotta go and put yourself down like that shrimp?"

She glanced up at him. "I'm not putting myself down, it's the truth."

"No it's not." He argued.

She just sighed and continued walking.

"And you don't need to thank me.." He huffed out, turning his face away.

Tch. Since when have I been this soft.

"Well I will thank you anyways." She held out her hand for a handshake from him.

He looked down at he hand and engulfed it with his larger one. Her hands were so small and dainty against his large, rough ones. He light shook it and quickly pulled his hand back.

She smiled at him. "Well.. this is it. Fairy Hills..." She pointed up at her dormitory building.

Gajeel examined the tall dormitory and chuckled. It was pink and had a bright yellow door.

This is the girliest shit I've ever seen... He glanced over at her. But it suits her.

"Hmm.. well goodnight." She hummed and patted his shoulder.

"Night, shorty.. I'll be here by 9 tomorrow morning. " He turned around and left. 

Levy nodded at him.

She was watching him leave from the porch balcony with a big smile on her face and her leg lifted up in the air as his shadow faded in with the street.

"Woo!" She cheered aloud to herself.

She spun around on her heel doing a victory spin and froze when her eyes met with a curious-faced Erza.

Levy awkwardly tried brushing past her. "Eh.. Goodnight E-Erza-san."

Erza raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Goodnight Levy."

Levy entered her dorm room, shuffling past the piles of books. She plopped her bag down on her sofa and pulled out a night gown from her drawer and slipped it on. She rubbed her eyes and yawned as she crawled into bed.

Levy fell asleep her mind instantly blacking out into a deep sleep.

Author's note: This chapter was really short but I want everything that happens on Tenroujima to be in one chapter so I'm also going to update chapter 6 by tonight or tomorrow hopefully! :) thanks and remember to comment/vote/follow <3 It means a lot! :D
