Chapter 9- secrets

"Don't say that! Some people care for you! Don't say that no one does...now go rest"

Near placed his hand on top of matt's "thanks.." He mumbled then fell asleep

"Hmm..I could actually fall for you if I wasn't in love with mello" matt whispered standing up and kissing near's forehead...he didn't know why he did but he felt like it . Just then someone came in

L was walking down the hall and stopped when he reached near's door he didn't knock and decided to just come in he froze at what he saw near was asleep his hand was on matt's hand and matt just kissed near's forehead "uh what are you doing?..?" L asked

"Oh uh L hi uhm nothing eh uh ermm...bye!!!" Matt said quickly then ran outside and went straight to his room leaving L standing there shocked and a bit...jealous? No he can't be jealous why would he be jealous. He went over to near and stared down at him..he can tell that near had a pained expression he was sad and troubled "i am just gonna forget about what I saw but what is troubling you so much?" L mumbled frowning

"I wish I could take your troubles away near so that everything could be easy for you" he said sighing "you've been through so much..."

" you're too young to experience all of these but I cannot do anything about it and I'm sorry" L felt himself getting emotional

He held near's hand "i wish i could be with you all the time to prevent any harm to befall on you"

"I wish you stay strong at all times..."

Tears formed L's eyes "i wish I wasn't this complicated"

His tears fell

"I wish I could finally accept and admit the fact  that...I...Am inlove with you..." He mumbled

When the sun came up near woke up shocked that he was still alive his head still hurts like hell though "why can't I just die already..."

"If you died there will no longer be snow white" he heard someone say he looked where the voice came from and he saw matt playing on his gameboy "you're here again.." Near whispered matt looked up and laughed "course I am since I'm the only one who knows about your secret might as well take care of ya to make you feel better...though you sure you doing wanna get your head checked up?"

Near shook his head slowly "no.."

"Suit yourself...now here eat this soup it'll make you feel better"

"You do know I have a head concussion not a fever "

The older boy rolled his eyes at near "i know but still soup makes everyone feel better"

"Well I don't like eating"

"Drink it then"

"You're smarter than I thought" near said

Matt smirked "i know now go" he said putting his gameboy down and walking over to near and gave him the soup "by the way mello said that L told him you guys are gonna have a fun activity outside...would you want me to tell them that you're not gonna come?"

Near took the soup "n-no they might suspect something I'd rather do the activity"

"But near your head"

"No I'll be fine i can always ignore the pain...I always do"

Matt was a bit taken back at what near said "okay fine but i will watch just in case" near nodded then looked at matt "i have a question" matt looked back at near "what? Is the soup not good? Sorry it's my first time making one" he mumbled looking down "okay first you cooked this? Wow it's actually good and second why are you being so nice?" Near asked matt smiled "thanks and we're friends and friends should look out for each other"

"Wait since when are we friends?"

"Pssh since the day we visited you in the infirmary idiot...oh cmon mello had been nice to you and I'm currently taking care of you is that not enough to make you realize you have friends?" Matt asked near shook his head

"Im sorry its just i never actually had friends"

Matt pouted "no you do to think I worked my butt off for that soup and then I find out you didn't know were friends oh the pain" near actually smiled "I'm sorry I really am..."

"Its fine snow white as long as you don't do it again...by the way"

"Yeah?"

"L went here last night too when you slept again?"

Near blushed "r-r-really?"

Matt nodded "yep and judging by your reaction I'm starting to think you like him" near blushed even harder matt gasped "oh my god you do! You lik-" near quickly covered his mouth groaning at the process because the sudden movement made his head hurt

"Oh god near!" Matt gasped again worriedly looking at the boy

"I-im fine" he mumbled holding his head

"You sure?" Matt asked near nodded "okay so about the L thing...since when have you liked him?"

"Since the first day we met I guess...I've only confirmed it to myself yesterday though " he answered matt nodded "don't worry since you told me your secret let me tell you mine" matt said grinning

"You're inlove with mello...i already know that"

Matts eyes went wide "h-how did you...?"

"I wasn't fully asleep yet last night when you said what you said" near whispered smirking matt blushed

"God I hate myself"

"Relax as long as you don't tell L I won't tell mello.."
