"Do you want to try it on?"
"No, it's my size, it'll fit. I don't want to put it on until tonight."
Michelle nodded. "Do you like these?" She held up a pair of earrings.
"They're lovely..."
"Shoes, check. Dress, check. Earrings, check. Purse..." Michelle's eyes widened. "We need a purse!"
She dragged me into another section of the store. Purses lined the walls. "This is gonna take a while."
"I'll say."

"What time is he picking you up?"
"Seven."
"Good that gives us two hours to get you ready! And to get you pass your aunt..."
I sighed. Michelle and I were strolling back to her house.
"I just hope she's cooled off by now."
"Alecia Allen! Inside! Now!" I heard aunt Jessica scream. When our feet touched Dahlia's lawn.
I gulped.
Michelle took the bag I was holding. "Go talk to her, I'll set out everything upstairs in my room."
She dashed for the back door.
I took a deep breath and went inside, I didn't even get a chance to explain.
"You run off to meet Lucien Rathbone?! Now you have a date with him you say? Well I have news for you, you are not going young lady-"
"Jessica, calm down." Grandma said.
She whirled on Grandma. "Calm down Mama? She's mingling with our enemies!"
"Jessica, I want to hear what Ally has to say without interruption, so have a seat and bite your tongue."
Aunt Jessica was fuming but she did as Grandma said.
"Why did you go off to meet Lucien Ally? Yesterday you wanted to play the 'Kill Lucien Game'."
"I had questions, he had answers. He told me where to go if I wanted to meet with him, so I went."
"Alright... How do you fit a date into that?"
"Well..." I said taking a seat across from them both. "After that he took me to this lake and... We um..." I cleared my throat.
"Kissed..."
Aunt Jessica threw her arms up in exasperation and started to wave her pointer finger at me. She was silently scolding me. Grandma laughed at her and aunt Jessica frowned and leaned back into the sofa.
"After that, we talked and he asked me out."
"Wouldn't he expect you to be at my house though?"
"That's what you're concerned about Mama? Where he'll pick her up?"
"Why yes, it's Ally's first date and anyone with eyes can see she's excited."
"So I'm blind now?"
"Why can't you just be happy for me..." I whispered out, knowing she'd hear me.
"You used to be my fun and crazy aunt, ever since we got here, it's like you're on edge and just angry with everyone! What's your problem? This seems to be about more than Lucien!"
Grandma looked at me sadly.
Aunt Jessica didn't answer, she got up and ran outside, slamming the door behind her.
I got up to follow her. "Ally, no, I'll talk to Jessica, you wouldn't know what to say..."
She walked pass me. "What's wrong with her grandma? Why is she acting like this?"
"Kingswood, Ally. Kingswood." She closed the door and went off to find her.
I sighed and went upstairs to find Michelle.
Trey's PoV.
I saw when Michelle got back, but she just ran pass me and went to her room.
I heard the whole conversation Ally, Jessica and Theresa had, and I still couldn't believe it.
Lucien was taking Ally out? And she was going? After his dad tried to kill her aunt and grandmother? Did he drug her?
I didn't like the idea of him being anywhere near my friends. He was bad news.
You can't tell Ally that... You saw how happy she was when she got back...
I sighed. Must be the drugs... That's my only conclusion.
I sat down on the porch steps waiting for Mr. Killer to show up.
Alecia's PoV.
"How'd it go..?"
"I don't want to talk about it. I don't want anything to ruin tonight."
Michelle smiled at me. "Okay, well go take a shower, then we'll start with that catastrophe you call hair."
This was gonna be a long hour and a half...
