For Ellina.
I left you in the school,
The barren brick walls surrounding you.
I left you in the spring,
The melting snow mocking your tears
I left you, and I lost you.
I did not see your heart on your sleeve,
Marking out your place.
I did not see as you placed that heart in my hands,
Giving me your happiness.
"I did not see"? No, I ignored.
I chose not to see you there.
And now I am gone.
And you have but one friend, and I have none.
I tore your heart from your sleeve,
I took your soul from your chest.
And now that I am gone, I am lost.
(Sincerely, your lover.)
