An innocent smile invited me in
And a hard last goodbye shut me out
A soft touch made me want you
Harsh words made me hate you
The sound of your voice comforted me in my time of need
The sound of your voice made me quiver in my skin
Your presence awakened my soul
The thought of you made me numb
The way your fingers fit perfectly in mine
The way our last touch haunts me
The way you could make my heart beat
The way you made my heart stop
I laughed until I hurt
I cried until I slept
The kiss was gentle and loving
The kiss will forever hang heavy in my brain
I was able to say goodbye
But the last goodbye scarred deep into my soul
