Death inside

The worst part about dying inside
Is the fact that it's the easiest to hide
When you feel like the only thing holding you together are the fissures that are tied together
And you're empathy becomes your one and only tether
When people go looking for the depressed ones they look for the frowns and scars
But for us it was never in our arms but the eyes held ours
The silent tears and smiles that seem to fake to be real
No one realizes the ones who make you laugh and try to hard to look happy are the ones who's reality is surreal
If you ever look for the alone and dejected
You won't find the truly depressed ones because they are often undetected
We lie under your nose while we make you smile
Because we know this pain is not for anyone and definitely not worthwhile
We the ones who convinced ourselves we are worthless and already dead
It's not true the battle becomes which dog is fed
The good or the bad the happy or the sad you decide which to feed
Often times we let our pain bleed
So that we can repair the others lost and broken
Because to us we feel we are the forsaken
The forced smiles, the I'm fines, and the jokes are all for your smiles
So that you don't know my pain and how it stretches for miles
We the dead inside we only have one reason to fight on
And that is no matter what help right other's wrongs
