3rd Person's POV (12 years ago)

The sound of a newborn's cry filled the Fire Nation Capital, having two little kids jump out of their beds and run into their parent's room. The little girl named Azula, pushed her older brother, Zuko, away to get to their mother first. Zuko groaned when he clashed into the wall, shaking his head, he began to run after Azula. They entered their parents room, only to see many servants huddled around the bed, along with their father, Ozai.

They walked towards where their father was, the servants getting out of their way so they could see their new little sister

"Zuko, Azula, my precious children, I would like you to meet the new member of our family, your little sister, Lea." Ursa introduced them to Baby Lea, smiling softly. She slightly tilted the bundle of joy so the two toddlers could get a better look. Azula was in 'awe' when she saw Lea, thankful that she didn't get another annoying brother like Zuko. Zuko was another story, something about Lea was different from Azula, Lea's chubby face was so gentle, showing no sign of evil or darkness. Ozai ran his hand through what little hair Lea had, smiling to himself, he was proud that he had another daughter, a daughter that would bring him many power through her fire bending, just like Azula.

Fire Sages walked into the room, their faces stern as they walked to the other side of the bed to determine if Lea had any fire in her at all and what her future will be like. Ursa handed Lea over to the youngest of the Fire Sages, Shyu, only in his early 50's, he was still being partially trained so this was his final test in order to become a true Fire Sage over on Avatar Roku's Island.

Shyu stared at Lea, staring at her intently, waiting for her to open her eyes. After a few moments, she finally did, her eyes opened, revealing gold irises, similar to her siblings and parents. The eyes are the windows to the soul, so her eyes will show who she truly is and will become in the nearby future. Shyu gazed into Lea's eyes, but no fire was seen, only a Phoenix Bird. Shyu handed Lea back to Ursa, a sad smile gracing his features

"I'm sorry to tell you, that Lea isn't a Fire bender." Ozai gritted his teeth, knowing exactly why, it was because Ursa wasn't a Fire bender like him or his other children

"Shyu, let me check to make sure." The elder of the Fire Sages stated, having Ursa pass Lea to him. The elder let out a quiet gasp when he saw the Phoenix within her eye, this went unknown to the family, but not by the Fire Sages next to him

"Shall we speak with you, Ozai?" The elder asked Ozai, handing Lea back to Ursa. Ozai nodded and followed after the Fire Sages

"Momma, why isn't she a Fire bender like us?" Azula asked Ursa who smiled at her daughter

"Because dear, I am not a fire bender like you two are, you two got lucky when you inherited your father's fire, Lea may be a little different, but that doesn't mean we should love her any less." Azula nodded and climbed onto the bed to sit next to her. Zuko climbed on top of the bed as well, but on the other side of their mother. Ursa kissed all of her children's fore heads, smiling to herself.

Out in the hallway, behind closed doors, was the Fire Sages speaking with Ozai

"She is not a fire bender as of right now, but she will be in the future, she is a Phoenix." The elder informed Ozai

"A Phoenix, like Agni?"

"She is descended from Agni, but I tell you this, most times when Phoenix's are born, they are killed off, but I sense in the future that she will choose the side that her family is on, the Fire Nation's side." Ozai nodded, thinking

"The Phoenix is the most powerful of all Fire benders, she may even pass you or Firelord Azulon along the way, you must not tell her or your family of who she is until she is mature enough to understand." Ozai nodded, smirking inwardly

"I understand."

"We will make yearly check ups of when the fire within her will awaken." The Fire Sages bowed to Ozai before leaving him to his family.

To Be continued
