Laura's POV
I woke up the next morning to my iPad going off with notifications. I looked over at it and saw that Hannah was texting me.
(Text conversation)
(Han) hey where r u?!?!
(Laura) @ home ....y?
(Han) at skool........DUH!!!
(Laura) OH Dang it how could i sleep in!?!?
(Han) IDK but u better get ready! Our first class is chemistry and were getting assigned partners for the project today!
(Laura) Ok see u there :P
(Han) K see ya
I quickly put on a bright yellow t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Then I slipped on my converse and put my hair in a quick messy bun. I put on my backpack, grabbed my lunch and started running to school. When I got there I went immediately to chemistry class and took a seat. Today we had a substitute teacher.
"Excuse me could you please tell me your name?"
"Laura Marano."
"Well Miss Marano, I will not tolerate being 15 minutes late to class. Detention for you." I heard Nikki giggling..what an evil giggle.
"Class today you will find out your partners for our upcoming project. I will call out names. Hannah and Nikki, Ross and Laura," Wait. I'm partners with Ross..in chemistry..and we almost kissed!!! Ok world, whatever your mad about.. Just take it out on Laura!! Why am I so excited yet so scared?! Could it be? Nah, it couldn't.
The next period was lunch. Nikki walked up to me. Why does it always have to be Nikki!! "Oh hello Laura, isn't it cute how you dress like a homeless person." And there it was again.. That evil little giggle. In detention I was super bored so I decided to call Ross.
(Phone conversation)
"Hey"
"Hey" he seemed a bit tired but I pushed it to the side.
"So we got our partners for the chemistry project today" I bit my lip thinking about it.
"Who am I with?" He asked.
"Me. We're together." Why did I smile when I said this! Stop Laura! You don't like him, you don't!
"Well I have to go we can talk over the project later"
"Ok bye"
"Bye" After detention I went home.
"Nessa... I called when I got in the house." I saw a note on the kitchen counter. "Grocery shopping with mom, be back later - Vanessa" I got out my iPad and texted Hannah.
