Levy ran for her and stopped her head from hitting the floor. She rested Bisca's head in her lap and began to rapidly pat her face.
"B-Bisca wake up!" Levy continued patting her.
Everyone gathered around, their shocked faces staring at Bisca's limp body.
"Body link Magic..." Cana trailed off as she knelt down next to Levy. "If you attack the lacrima, that same damage gets sent back to you..."
"Oh no!" Levy stammered. "At this rate the people in the city will..."
"We've got to beat Laxus!" Cana proclaimed.
"I'll try and get as many people evacuated from the city as possible!" Lucy affirmed.
"I'll go too!" Happy pounced over to Lucy.
Juvia nodded over at Cana, signaling that she'd be going too.
Cana, Lucy, and Happy soon ran off into the city along with Juvia, leaving behind Natsu, Gajeel, and Levy.
"Gahh! I can't take it anymore!" Natsu belted and jumped over the balcony only to be faced with the same rune that he couldn't escape.
"Natsu calm down!" Levy cried.
Gajeel was steadily watching her, he was leaned up against the wall.
"This is no time to be calm!" He trilled, pushing himself into the invisible wall.
"Just listen!" Levy argued with him.
"Damn it!" He snickered as he threw a punch at the rune. "There's s another invisible wall here!"
"Runes, right?" Levy intoned.
"We know that already" Gajeel huffed as he snootily shifted his head to the side.
Levy turned to face him. "It's one of the writing magics so I might be able to help!" She smirked.
His snooty face shifted back to normal as he turned to meet her gaze. "What?"
"Really, Levy?!" Natsu jumped back up the balcony, practically ready to pounce on top of her in excitement.
She nodded. "I believe you two can stop Laxus..." She admitted, smiling at Gajeel and back at Natsu. All three of them headed inside. Bisca and Makarov were both in the infirmary.
---
About 10 minutes had passed and Levy was face down into her books. Looking up the languages, different scripts, spells, anything to break the runes. And she knew she was close! She pushed her glasses up with her index finger and flipped through each page.
"hmmmmm." She hummed.
Gajeel sat there next to her as she was rest on her elbows and knees. He watched her as she flipped through each page. He paid attention to how her lips moved as she spoke. He slightly smirked when she had to push her glasses up every 10 seconds. He was truly amazed by her, he didn't know that her magic was this useful and powerful at a time like this while his and Natsu's were practically useless.
Levy's definitely the strongest and we need her right now.. He thought.
"Hmm if I take the information of the arrangement of the rouge letters.. and break it down to the letter materials, I could use the vocabulary used to construct the rules... L, O, S, U... Then changing it further to gheel grammar..."
"Wow, you're amazing." Gajeel confessed to her. " I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.."
She so wanted to turn to him and smile at him but she knew she was too busy and this wasn't the time to bond with anyone, she had to save Magnolia. She pretended like she didn't hear him and continued. She realized something in her work.
