Chapter 3: Laxus' "Game"

"What's the matter Gajeel-kun?" Juvia broke his train of thought.

"It's nothing" He stifled.

"This guild sure is fun.." she bubbled.

He turned his face from her, hiding his stupid look. "It's got a screw loose."

Suddenly the rune around the guild was acting up. Everyone stirred in their positions and watched as the letters floated before them. Before they knew it, a huge skull appeared before them, it's mouth open.

"Can you hear me old man?" Laxus' muffled voice called out through the skull. "Seems one of my plans have failed.. but it's a good thing I have a backup plan. Now.. In order for the battle of Fairy Tail to continue, I have activated Thunder Palace."

"Thunder Palace?!" Makarov shrilled.

"You have one hour.. So, can you defeat me? Or will you retire your place to me, Master?" Laxus piped. "Hahahaha!" his laugh descended along with the skull and it disappeared.

"WHAT ARE YOU THINKING LAXUS?!" Master stormed. "You plan on getting innocent people involved in this?!" The Master's heart suddenly gave out on him, he clenched his chest and fell to the ground.

"Master!"

"Gramps!"

"What's wong?!"

"Master please hang in there!" Levy squeaked as she kneeled down to hold Makarov's head up from the floor.

"Everyone! Look outside!" Mirajane shrieked and pointed to a window.

Natsu carried Makarov into the infirmary and placed him into one of the beds. The group headed out to the guild's balcony and looked around them. Lightning lacrima were floating all around Magnolia in a circular formation.

"What are those?" Natsu asked as he peered around to study them.

"Thunderbolt Lacrima..." Levy answered him.

"They're all around us." Lucy cautioned.

"Each of those lacrima storesa great deal of magical thunderbolt energy." Cana informed.

"So that's what the Thunder Palace is.." Lucy breathed, as she looked down worried.

"Now Magnolia is the target." Cana continued.

"So what happens if those things discharge?" Lucy gasped and pointed up to them.

"Countless thunderbolts will rain down on the city...." Cana answered her.

The vision of thunderbolts crashing down onto the city left them cringing.

"I won't let that happen!" Bisca objected as she loaded her sniper rifle. "Sniper Rifle Requip! Target: Lock on! Stinger shoot!" And with that she fired her magic bullet straight into on of the lacrima, successfully destroying it.

"All right!" Lucy cheered.

"Not bad Bisca!" Cana complemented.

"I'll get 'em all like this!" Bisca held up her rifle. Suddenly a bolt of lightning struck through Bisca's body, sending her to scream in agony. She was literally being electrocuted from the inside and out.

"Bisca!!" Natsu yelped.

"What's happening?!" Happy held his paws to his eyes, not wanting to watch.

"Bisca!" Levy cried.

The electrocuting stopped and Bisca roughly dropped to the ground. Her stiff body thudding into the hard cement.
