"When will he be here?" Ashton asks, holding Luke's hand and dragging him to the small table in the kitchen, and taking a seat in one of the chairs.

"I don't know, he just said he's on his-" I say, but am cut off when I hear the door bell ring.

All of our heads shoot towards the door. I swallow the lump in my throat as Ashton looks back at me, and gets up off the chair. Luke stays where he is, and pulls his knees up to his chest. He looks...scared. My eyebrows furrow, and I go to sit next to him as Ashton goes to the door.

"Luke?" I ask to get his attention, and out my hand on his shoulder.

He looks at me, his eyebrows furrowed, his knees covering his mouth so you just see his nose and above, "I'll be okay." Luke says, and gets up and follows Ashton to the door.

I look at Ashton, who just smiles softly at me and signals for me to come over to the door. I sigh, and get up off the chair and go to the door.

I feel my phone vibrate and I check it quickly.

calum: you awake? i'm here

I send a reply.

michael: yeah hold on

"Go wait in the living room," I tell Luke and Ashton, putting my phone back in my pocket, "I'll bring him in." I finish.

Luke nods, holding his boyfriends hand and pulling him out of my sight into the living room. I look back at the door, and put my right hand on the handle, opening the door and exposing Calum.

He smiles, more widely than I think he intended to, as he brings his hand up to his mouth and covers it slightly, "Hey." He mumbles.

"Hi," I reply, not being able to break eye contact with him, "come in." I say.

He walks in, finally taking his eyes away from mine, and I shut the door behind him.

"Nice house," He says, looking around at everything, "it's kinda what I imagined you always living in." He chuckles.

It's quiet, and I remember the dinner that is ready on the stove and offer him some, he just shakes his head and mumbles a 'no, thank you.'

I just nod, and start walking towards the living room, and Calum follows. I try to think about what to say, and how to say it.

I sit down next to Ashton on the couch, and Luke is sat next to Ashton, and Calum stands, not really knowing where to sit. I pat the empty spot next to me, and Calum smiles and sits there. Me, Ashton and Luke all turn to Calum.

"Hi, Ashton," He starts, and then looks over at Luke, who is leaning against Ashton's shoulder, and has his arms around Ashton's waist, "hi, Luke." Calum finishes.

"Hey." Ashton says, his voice soft, almost a whisper.

"Hi." Luke says, snuggling into Ashton's shoulder.

"I'm glad you two are together," Calum says, flashing them a smile, which makes me literally so heart eyes, "you two are literally soul mates."

Ashton smiles, "I think so too."

It's quiet for a few seconds, none of us really knowing what to say. Then, Calum speaks.

"Luke," He says, causing Luke to give Calum his attention, "I've come to apologize. Genuinely apologize."

"Why did you- you do it?" Luke speaks, stuttering slightly. I feel sympathy for him in that moment.
