With Andy back home I fell a lot more protected. Mainly because she can take on anything. I trust Andy and Jax more than Raelyn, and that's saying something. Jax was throwing acorns at a tree as I sat on a bench in his yard. The cool breeze swept through made a bunch of his acorns fly. "Dang it!" he yelled.

"Now all the squirrles are going to go to your yard." I laughed. I was relaxed with my feet up watching the trees move in the wind.

"Marcus? How long do you think we'll have to wait till we run away from this place?"

I stopped and thought for a second. Leave? "Why do you want to leave Jax? Yes we may be poor but we have everything we need."

"Mark...its not the 1800s. The presdient has technology we never could think of. Your really want your future children to live here?"

"Who said I was having children? Who said I would habe a family?" I objected.

"I always figured you'd marry Andy."

I rolled my eyes. "We're not leaving unless we have to. Deal?"

"Deal." he said. He walked inside his cabin and I followed. He does have a family, a mom, a dad, and a little brother. However, Andy, doesn't. The only family she has is Jax and I. I guess that's why she can do a lot of dangerous stuff without fear.

"Hello Marcus. Would you like anything to eat?" Jax's mother greeted me.

"Oh no thank you ma'am but I apprciate it. I have to go see Andy at the well, I think she's getting water and I want to help her."

She nodded and walked away. Jax hugged me and handed me a dagger then said goodbye and I was on my way. I walked down a path along a river towards the mill. The setting was amazing, green grass, healthy trees. And a giant river that goes through out our little camp. We call it a camp becuase the richer people call their's neighborhoods. As I was walking down I couldn't believe what I saw. It was a deer. First deer I've seen in weeks. I got down slowly and made sure to not be visable. I was unprepared, I didn't have a gun or bow to shoot with. I wait till it got closer and then charged at it with my dagger. It started to run once it saw me but I needed the food. I ran as fast as I could and went up a steep hill after it. Just as I was about to stab it, a person came out of no where and tackled me.

We rolled down the hill a little bit until they let go. I opened my eyes and saw Andy. Her brown hair was in my face and she looked at me with fear. "Shush. Get up and do not make a sound." she whsipered.

"Why? What is going on I though you were at th mill?" I whispered back confused. I followed her up the hill and we both got down.

"This is why I stopped you." I looked down the hill and saw a giant camp. There were soldiers from The Middle. The Middle is like the government of the US. Its name comes from being in the middle of the whole country. I know, how creative.

The camp had about fity men in a big open field. They all were armed with advanced weapons guns. The best weapon we had was a rifle to kill deer. They all wore some sort of black armor thag changed color. It could be camo or white, you name it. The camp was still in constuction but it looked like they were building a giant tower, could be a fort. They were awfully close to our lamd cutting down trees and killing animals.

"Why are they here?" I asked.

"I don't know, but it isn't good that they are." Andy got up and grabbed her gun out of its holder on her back. She stood up and slid down the hill.

I told her to get back but she wouldn't listen. She kept running towards the soldiers. I didn't want her getting hurt so i ran after her. With so much fear towards these people, I ran to them like they were heros. The soldiers saw us and their leader looking guy told them to put their guns down. They did as he commanded and most of them dispersted to what they were doing before they saw Andy and I. A few stayed with him and acted as guards.

"Who are you two? You look like high shcoolers." he said with a growl. "I'm Captian Thorn."

"Hello sir don't mind us we just wanted to see what a lovely fortress you're making here," I replied to seem friendly and kind so he wouldn't harm us.

"You don't need to lie to me you stupid kid!" he smacked me across my face leaving a mark.

"Hey! Back off!" Andy screamed getting in front of me to protect me.

"Oh you're a pretty girl. Too bad you're so "tough" you'll learn that it will kill you."

Just then I saw Jax get infront of us. "My mistake sir, we will just be leaving."

"And who the hell are you?"

"My name is....uh Jackson Steel and I am very good friends with these two stupid teenagers." he made the most awful and stupid lie. However, we got out.

"Get those two out of my sight. You three teens saw nothing. You are all lucky we didn't kill you. Now get out of here!"

All three of us ran away towards the hill we came from. After we made it far enough without them being able to see us, Jax smacked me and stopped us from walking. "Are you nuts?" he yelled.

"A little bit," I responded.

"You could have died! I just saved your damn life. You should be thankful," he hugged me and almsot cried. "I dont want to lose my best friends. So, why did you guys go over here?"

"Andy saw it and wanted to let me know." he then turned and looked at Andy. He smacked her arm.

"So it was your idea?" he laughed.

"Yeah yeah. Thanks for saving us you ice-brain." she replied.
