Temporary Bliss

I met you when the sun passionately shines above us

Under a coconut tree while we wait for the bus;

I remember the yellow and white garments that you wear

For a hot summer like this, it's just fair.

We headed toward the same destination

Where we can unwind and enjoy the isolation;

You sat just beside me, your arm brushing mine

We chatted for a while, and I asked you to dine.

That night, under the bright moonlight, we danced

And took every opportunity to be close every time we chanced;

Days passed and we hoped they wouldn't end

But we both knew time is not our friend.

Sooner than later, we parted

We went back to where we started;

Well, I could only hope to see you again

Maybe next summer or even under the rain.

And now, you will just be a memory;

One I could remember even after a century.

Your face, your skin– forever etched on my mind

Your voice, your laughter– eternally rhymed.

*It's summer time! Time for summer flings and temporary bliss. Lol! Have you experienced that? Well, I haven't. :) What can you say?
