May You Rest In Peace
As I lay in my bed and wonder,
Watching as the days pass quickly by
I look at your old pictures
And ask myself, Why where you the one
That had to die?
You were there for me
Because you were my sister; my best friend
And I tried to be there for you
Until the night
You chose your life to end
I realize that now,
It's time to let you go
You're spirit, for a year, has been free
Even though you'll be in my heart,
You're really forever gone,
The memory of you still burns inside me
And I've been waiting for the clock to strike
And my time to come
This is hardly goodbye,
But, Lillah, I will no longer weep,
Because I know, in my heart,
You're in a better place
As I walk away from your grave,
I will always remember
That beautiful smile on your face
Because you're safer now,
Than ever before
And no one can hurt you
Or try to break you more
I know I will forever miss you,
I think about you every day,
You'll always be my best friend
The sister I never had
And this is all I have left to say
