I Will Wait
When every tidal wave crashes,
And the ocean kisses the shore,
You can know it's dawn
And all the lights are brighter
Than if you were to stare up at the sun
I take one look at the moon to see
Far across the other side
It's twilight;
It's noon in the night
But remember, I am not sleeping
I am not hopelessly dreaming of you
But I am still there
On the other side of this small world
Crying in this darkness
Waiting for you
To come back to me
To hold me close, in your arms
To kiss my lips
And whisper,
"Baby, it'll be alright,
I'm here."
