Teresa's POV

Thomas was in the opposite isle next to me, looking right at me. Not in a stalkerish way, but more as if he was curious about me. He walks over to me, an action that nearly makes my heart stop.

"We met earlier, but I don't think I ever got your name." He said with a smile.

"Teresa." I say, "And you're Thomas, what's a jock like you doing in a little bookshop like this?" I question, a somewhat shy smile on my lips

"Teresa, pretty name. And a 'Jock' like myself' is here for a book, because sometimes the jock species like to read." He smirks.

"Sorry if you took offense to that, I just don't see many people from school here." I laugh. For some reason I felt nervous talking to him, maybe it was because he was the most gorgeous man alive.

"Don't worry, I understand. I'm only getting this for a book report. Have any suggestions?" He asks me. Good, book talk, something I'm good at.

I half shrug, as if I don't live for customers asking this question, "Well anything in this section is good." I gesture to the young adult section. "Also that shelf over there, the owner's picks, those were all put there by me. So that stuff is good too."

"Wow, you've read a lot of books!" He exclaims.

"This is nothing, I love reading." I explain with a laugh. He walks over to the owner's pick shelf picks up a random book.

"This will do." He shrugs. We walk over to the counter and he pays for the book.

"So I notice you like to hang out with that Aris guy a lot, are you too dating?" He asks.

This question shocked me. He noticed me? I didn't think anyone even knew I existed! And why would he want to know if I was in a relationship?

"No." I laugh, "We're definitely not dating, just best friends."

"Well then he wouldn't mind if I got your number? As another friend of course." He asked. I'm not completely sure whether he's joking about the friend thing or not, but still I quickly respond with a yes and write my number on his recite.

"Great." He smiles, "I'll see you tomorrow Teresa."

"Um ya, sure." I mumble, still somewhat stunned. He actually wants to see me again? That's a first. And he got my number? The only people that text me are my family and Aris.

I like Thomas, a lot, but as he said we could never be more then friends. After all, he shouldn't even be talking to a loser like me.

A few minutes later I get a text from him. Wow, that was fast! I think

From Thomas🏈: I read the first few sentences of the book, so far I'd say u have good taste

I laugh and reply.

Teresa🌸: I'm glad u like it

We continue texting about random, pointless things for the rest of my shift. Lucky for me it was a slow day. He made me laugh so easily, I probably looked like an idiot giggling at my phone screen all afternoon. Finally my shift was over and I said goodbye to Thomas, did homework for an hour, then went to bed.

Thomas's POV

Teresa and I talked all night last night, she's amazing. She's a lot different then most of the girls I've talked to, she's smart and doesn't seem to care about what I, or anyone else, think of her. I think I like her, I know I like her. I just don't know in what way.

"Thomas... are you even listening?" I hear the voice of my friend Newt ask. It was lunch, the day after I had met Teresa.

"What?" I snap out of my thoughts. Minho rolls his eyes.

"I was talking about the stupid blog, it says I'm cheating on Harriet." He says.

"Which is completely true, you hooked up with both Sonya and Beth last week, and the week before." I sat in a joking manner, though I was completely serious. Newt nods his head in agreement.

"Fair, but she wasn't supposed to know that!" He laughs with us.

"So Tommy, what's on your mind? You're clearly distracted." Newt says.

"And you can't be distracted with the homecoming game only a week away!" Minho adds.

"It's nothing guys, trust me." I shake my head.

"Teeeeeeeelll uuuuuusssssss!!" Minho whines. "If you don't then you won't get over it as quick."

"Fine!" I sigh, "You see that girl over there," I point to Teresa who wasn't paying attention and reading a book as always, "We've been talking and I really like her." I say.

"She's pretty I guess, I always thought you'd fall for a nerd." Newt smirks, "You ask her out yet?"

"No, not yet. I'm planning on it though."

"Come on! You have to do it before she looses interest. Not that any girl would." Minho smirks. (Whoa Minho your gay is showing)

"Alright, Alright I will. Now can we not talk about my love life anymore?" I say.

"Thomas loves the nerd girl Thomas lives the nerd girl." They both annoyingly chant like five year olds. The stop and start laughing.

"I hate you guys. And her name is Teresa by the way" I shake my head.

"You love us." Newt smirks.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night." I roll my eyes.

Teresa's POV

I begin to walk to the bus when I'm stopped by a voice calling my name.

"Teresa!" Thomas calls before I can get on the bus.

"Hey Thomas." I smile.

"Need a lift? I've got my own car and it's a hell of a lot better then the bus." He offers. To this I couldn't decline.

"Sure." My smile widens, "If it's no trouble."

"It's not." He says. He leads me to his car, a blue jeep, and opens the door for me.

"What a gentleman." I joke as I climb in. Soon we get to the shop, and we both get out of the car. He walks up to the door with me, looking to be a bit lost in his thoughts.

"So Teresa, I was wondering if you would want to go to the movies with me this Saturday?" He says almost shyly.

I smile brightly, "I would love to." I say, I assumed this was as friends, but part of me wonders if it could turn into something more.

His smile grows, "Good, I'll pick you up at 6 then?"

"Yes, sure. See you then." I say. Don't read to much into this. He doesn't like you like that. I tell myself.

When he leaves and I walk into the store I do a little happy dance because no matter if it's a date or not, I'm going to the movies with Thomas.

A/N

I'll probably be updating this irregularly just because I don't know when I'll have time or be motivated to write. I'm really happy with this story so far! Thank you all for sticking around so far!
