Teresa's POV (Most of this will be in her POV)

I wake up to the loud sound of my alarm clock blasting 'Heat of the Moment' (comment if you get that reference) and I groan. Though I'm pretty good at it, I hate school. It isn't really the classes or the teachers I don't like, it was the people. I'm not exactly popular and only have one friend, a boy named Aris. We weren't together or anything, that would be weird, we were just best friends.

I put on a blue sweater and leggings, wanting to be comfortable. Mondays are the worst, and lucky me has an AP science test plus a double shift at work today. My family owns a bookshop that I work at most nights. I really don't mind the shop, its mostly quiet and I love to read. The people are nice to me there too.

I curl my hair quickly, then grab my bag and walk to the bus, I've just recently got my drivers license but my parents can't afford to buy me my own car. So for now I was stuck on the bus, filled with idiots.

When I finally get off the smelly hell that is the bus I walk into the entrance of the school, seeing Aris on the way. "Teresa!" he calls and walks up to me.

"Hey Aris," I smile.

"Did you hear? Mrs. Paige is cancelling the test for today, moving it to next week for some reason!" My smile grew wide.

"That's great! I was so not ready for it." I tell him.

"Well that's my good news for today, now I gotta run to English, Mr. Jansen already hates me. See ya T!" He says before running away. I roll my eyes at him and laugh.

Just as he leaves I trip over a familiar pair of white converse. "Watch where you're going Loser!" The head cheerleader Brenda smirks and the rest of her stupid posey laugh and strut away. I sigh as all of my books were now scattered about the floor and I was for sure going to be late for Math.

"Geez are you okay?" A voice I never thought I'd ever hear directed at me says. It was Thomas, football quarterback and the most popular boy in our school.

"Ya I'm um... I'm fine" I say as he helps me pick up my books.

"That Brenda is way too full of herself. I'm Thomas by the way." He smiles a charming smile. I almost laugh, as if anyone doesn't already know who he is.

"Thanks," I smile shyly, "I'm uh late so I should go I guess" I say.

"Ya sure" he smiles, "I'll see you around." And with that he walks away, leaving me speechless. Thomas Edison, popular, handsome, smart, Thomas actually noticed me!

Don't read too much into it Teresa. I tell myself, He could never like a nerd like you, he was just being nice.

I shake it off and walk to my next class, making it just in time.

Four periods had gone by and it was lunch time. Aris, being my only friend, didn't have lunch this period which meant I was on my own.

Per usual, I sat at my own empty table. I put in my headphones as 'Fourth of July' by Fall Out Boy plays. I start to read Something Strange and Deadly and munch on a bag of chips, happy being alone.

When I look up, I see the popular table. Thomas, of course, is sitting in the middle, laughing with his friends that were also on the football team. Brenda, looking snotty as ever is sat on his lap and is kissing him.

He was smiling. I think back to our brief conversation before, I guess he doesn't think she was too full of herself. Stupid jocks, they'll say anything to charm a girl, I think.

They day went by as usual and finally I got home.

I walk into the bookshop and go up the stairs in the back, which leads up to my families apartment upstairs. I drop my bag and grab my book. Then, I walk down to the shop and sit at the counter.

About half an hour into my shift, Aris walks in. "I've got the best price of gossip, turns out that football jerk Minho has been cheating on both Harriet and Sonya! Definitely going on the front page." He smirks.

Aris runs the schools anonymous gossip blog, I'm the only one who knows that he writes it and that's a good thing, because everyone has been burned at one point by the blog, except of course me and Aris.

"Don't say that too loud! Someone might here!" I laugh.

"Oh who cares, anyone who finds out I can just call a liar right before they tell anyone." He smirks. "So will you help me write it?"

"Come on A, you know I'm against the stupid blog." I say, moving through an isle to fix the books. He follows me,

"But you're a great writer! I've seen the stuff you've written and it's amazing!" He says.

"I said no. And wait... how have you read my stuff? That was private." I interrogate.

"I may have looked on your laptop, I especially like that one love story that wasn't actually a love story or whatever you wrote." He grins, "You should be a writer."

"That's the plan, but don't read my stuff!" I laugh. I was usually self conscious about my writing but it was Aris, so I didn't really care.

"Well I've got to go write that thing... unless you want help me..."

"No!" I laugh, "Bye Aris."

He runs out in his usual dorky manner and I smile. It's then that I notice a pair of sparkling eyes looking right at me.

Thomas was in my families bookstore.
