Chapter 4: Running

"Ok honey." He said while kissing Mama Ana on her forehead, then he faced me and said, "Good night Zoey I'll see you in the morning, I'm off to bed." With that said he gave me another hug then pecked Mama Ana on the lips before heading upstairs to go to bed.

Mama Ana gave me a bowl of spaghetti to eat and when I was finished she put the bowl in the dishwasher and showed me to the guest room. The room was a decent size, there was a queen size bed in the middle and a door to the right which led to the bathroom, there was also a flat screen TV hanging on the wall.

"Ok dear I got some of your extra clothes from Loretta's house and placed them in the drawers next to the bathroom. You know where everything is so please make yourself at home, and if you need me you know where to find me. Good night dear." She gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead.

"Ok good night Mama Ana." I replied while hugging her back. Then she walked out of the room and shut the door leaving me alone to get some rest.

I walked over to the bed and sat on it waiting for my phone to turn on. Once it was on I saw that I had 74 missed calls and voicemails, 20 from Loretta, 15 from Carlos, 19 from Grace, 10 from Jake and Seth, telling me to answer my phone or asking if I was ok and where I was.

I also had 43 of texts, 10 from Loretta, 8 from Carlos, 9 from Grace, 5 from Jake and Seth, 2 from Jax, Zane and May, and 1 from an unknown number. Grace, Jake, Seth, Jax, Zane, and May's texts where pretty much the same of asking if I was ok and where did I go. While Loretta and Carlos was the same but then they told me that Mama J told them that I had to leave so they told me to be safe and Loretta threatened to hurt me if I did anything bad to her car, which made me laugh. But the text from the unknown number was the one that kinda shocked me it said.

Zoey sorry if I freaked you out by kissing you. I didn't mean to scare you away or anything. Oh Jax gave me your cell number if you where wondering how I got your number. Please talk to me but I won't be mad if you decide to stay away from me. Again I'm really sorry. -Hunter

Reading his text made me want to go back but I knew that I can't do that at the moment I have to see if what I think is true. I only texted back Loretta and Carlos telling them that I was fine and that I wasn't sure how long I was going to be gone but to cover for me and to tell them to let Mama J know that I got here safely but it is too late for me to call her cause I know she goes to bed earlier.

While I waited for a reply from one of them I went to the bathroom and hopped into the shower. I had a quick shower then I dried up and wrapped one towel around my body and a second one on my hair. I then brushed my teeth and washed my face. When I finished a pulled out a pair of shorts and a tank top to sleep in. After I dressed I dried my hair and combed through it. The whole time I was getting ready for bed all I could think about was Hunter and the kiss that we shared.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when my phone started ringing. I checked the caller id and it was Loretta.

"Hey Retta." I answered

"Hey Zo, what happened today?" She asked with concern clearly showing in her voice.

"Um some things happened that I want to figure out before I tell you, that's why I had to get away from there cause I know that I won't be able to get some of my answers there."

"Girl, you know you can tell me anything right?"

"Yes I know, that's why I love you Retta. But right now I don't want you guys to worry about me just focus on the mission. OK?"

"We will, but how long are you going to be gone for?"

"I'm not sure but hopefully I'll be back there soon. But it's late and I'm tired from driving here and you have school tomorrow, so I'll talk to you later, nighty night."

"Ok night. Oh by the way you better take good care of my car."

"Haha yes I will I promise you. Bye." With that I ended the call and plugged my phone in to charge.

I got into bed and turned of the lamp on the night stand waiting for sleep to take over me. But before I did my thoughts wondered back to the kiss me and Hunter shared leaving me feeling lonely. After what felt like hours, but was probably like half an hour, my mind finally let sleep take over leaving Hunter as my final thoughts.

Hunter's P.O.V.

I can't believe that I kissed her!!! It was the best kiss ever and I have had my fair share of kisses. But she ran right after she pulled away, maybe I shouldn't have kissed her.

'We had every right to kiss her she's our mate!' Kyle, my werewolf, said angrily

'I know she's our mate but she's only human. She doesn't know about us and mates.' I tried to explain

'I know, but you have to do something to make her ours. Did you see how all the guys were staring at her during the basketball game.'

'Don't remind me Kyle, I was about to kill all the guys there. But at least we only have to worry about the humans cause I told all the werewolves that she's off limits.'

'Ok but if you don't do anything about it then I will, and you know I'm not kidding. I was about to claim her if she hadn't pulled away so soon.'

'Yeah I know, but I think that we will have to take it slow with her.'

Then my phone went off signaling me that I got a text.

From: Jax

Hey Hunter, Zoey's number is (742)-963-9653.

To: Jax

Thanks man.

From: Jax

No problem.

To: Zoey

Hopefully she won't be mad at me and avoid me, but like I texted I wouldn't e mad at her I would be just really mad at myself. I don't know what I would do if she was mad at me and I don't think Kyle will take that to well.

'You got that right.'

'Oh shut up and leave me alone.' I replied

Zoey Valdega I've only known you for a day, and I was only with you for like 3 hours, and I think that I'm already falling for you. What have you done to me?
