Chapter 4: Running

Zoey's P.O.V.

I started to drive fast out of the town cause I knew that I wouldn't have much time til Carlos or Loretta find out that I'm not at school anymore. Right as I'm out of the town my phone start to blow up texts coming from them. I decide that I should call Mama J and tell her what I'm doing so that she can tell them that I'm fine. (Of course I'm using the bluetooth thats connected through the car to call Mama J.)

"Hello Zoey, is everything OK?" she asked through the phone, sounding worried.

"Yeah I'm fine but I'm going back to the headquarters cause I have to figure some things out." I replied to her

"Why are you going now? Can't it wait for the weekend or something? You guys are on a mission you can't just leave all of a sudden." She says

"I know Mama J, but something happened at school today and it made me really confused and I couldn't stay here to figure it out because it might affect the mission if I stay."

"OK then but if I were you I wouldn't go home because your parents think that you are at a boarding school and if you just randomly appeared they would start to question you and don't go straight to the headquarters go to the Smith house for now. I'll go and call Ana to let her know that you are on your way."

"Thanks Mama J, please also let Carlos and Loretta know that I'm fine and not to worry about me I'll be back as soon as I can and that I'll call them later."

"OK sweetheart just be safe please and let me know when you get to the Smith's."

"OK. Bye Mama J."

"Bye sweetheart."

With that I ended the call and turned off my cell so I couldn't get distracted from the incoming calls and messages, while turning on the music trying to distract my thoughts from the event that just took place. But the farther I got away the more I felt my heart ache. This can't be right.

When I arrived at the Smith's house it was already night time. I parked in front of the house and grabbed my back pack and headed for the front door. Before I reached it the door swung open and Mama Ana rushed out engulfing me in a hug. Yeah I know i have a lot of Mama's but don't blame me they rather me call them Mama than Miss, plus I'm not that big of a fan of calling adults by their first name especially the adults that are like family.

"Hey Zoey, I'm glad that you made it here safely. Janet called me earlier and told me that you would be coming." Mama Ana greeted me

"Hi Mama Ana, yeah some things happened and I need to figure out if its true or not." I replied hugging her back.

"Well then let's get you settled in and fed, and we can talk about it tomorrow." She said as we walked into their house.

The Smith's had a nice sized house and it had a warm and welcoming feeling. Even though it was only Mama Ana and Director Smith leaving in it but I we all knew that they will be having pups soon.

As we where entering the kitchen Director Smith was heading out of the kitchen.

"Hey Zoey, how ya feeling?" He asked giving me a hug.

"Hi Director Smith, I'm ok I guess just confused about some things that happened earlier today. That's why I'm here." I replied while hugging him back.

"Oh really then-" He was cut of by Mama Ana saying, "We can talk about it tomorrow let's just get her fed and settled in because she was driving almost all day today."
