I awoke the next morning with my cheeks stained with tears. I sat up in bed and groaned, I felt groggy and grungy.
"Good morning miss, breakfast is ready." a handmaiden said once she entered my room.
"Thank you Lola." I said cheerfully. She smiled at me and left for me to change.

I rolled out of bed and walked over to my closet. I grabbed a beautiful dress that was yellow on the top and faded into a light purple on the bottom. It exposed my shoulders and my entire back. I let my hair flow down my back and glanced at myself in the mirror.

Once I was ready and left my room and walked down the grand staircase to the dinning room.
"Good morning mother, father." I said when I entered the room.

My father sat on one end of the table and my mother sat at the other end. They stared at each other before turning to me.
"We must talk to you for a moment." My mother said while gesturing to a chair. I sat down and straightened my back.
"What about?" I asked getting a bit nervous.
"The attack that happened last week." My father said, resting an elbow on the table.

"Father, I'm fine...believe me." I tried reassuring him.
"You haven't left the house since, you used to love going outside and visiting the townspeople." my mother spoke up.
"Sorry, but if someone tired to kill you I'm sure you would've reacted the same!" I shouted at her.

Her reaction made me regret snapping at her.
"Sorry mother." I lowed my voice.

My father cleared his throat and looked at me.
"We understand, but the assassin got in here easily and the palace guards are not enough protection." he began. I prayed that I wouldn't be leaving Altre, I loved this planet too much.
"We hired a Jedi Knight to stay here until the threat is dead."

"A Jedi? I thought they weren't real." I said confusedly.
"He will be arriving shortly and he will be sleeping in the room next to yours." my mother looked upset over having to hire someone to protect me.
"I don't need a babysitter." I informed them.

"He is not a babysitter, think of him as a body guard. Someone to protect you, not watch over you." mother said.
"So he will have to follow me around everywhere I go?" I asked.

My parents nodded. I was fuming with anger. What was this Jedi going to do anyways? How could h possibly help? I groaned and stood up, pushing my chair back. Before I had a chance to leave, a palace guard entered the room.
"Your majesty, a man arrived and said he is a Jedi." the guard said.
"Send him in." my father said while getting up and pushing me towards the entrance of our palace.

I stood behind my mother and father as the guards escorted a young looking man into my home. He had long wavy hair that almost touched his shoulder. I noticed an extensive and profound scar across his eye. I had to admit he was attractive, but that didn't change a thing.

"Hello, my name is Anakin Skywalker." He said, sticking his hand out to shake my parents hands.
"Thank you for coming so quickly, it's a pleasure to meet you." my father firmly shook his hand and smiled.
"The pleasure is all mine." He said back.

Anakin turned to looked at me. When our eyes met, he smiled. I on the other hand showed no emotion.
"You must be the Princess. It's nice to meet you." He said.
I gave him a quick and fake smile before turning on my heels and exiting.

"Corinna." I heard my father holler after me. I rolled my eyes and turned back around.
"Yes father?" I said.
"Please show Mr. Skywalker to his room."

I looked at Anakin and gestured for him to follow me. He said goodbye to my parents and walked up to me. As we were walking down the corridor I stayed silent, hoping that he would get the memo and not say anything.
"So are you always like this?" He asked. I sighed but continued not to make eye contact.
"Like what?" I said brusquely.
"Brooding, dreary, oppressive... should I go on?" He said.

I stopped dead in my tracks and glared at him.
"Excuse me? Do you know who you're talking to?" I snapped.
"Yes I do, and I simply asked you a question." He said calmly.
I gritted my teeth and pursed my lips.

"I am not brooding or dreary or oppressive! I'm just a little frightened after what happened." I shouted. He looked at me with a straight face.
"Sorry Princess." He said seriously.

I lightened up a bit.
"I didn't mean to snap at you like that, I'm sorry." I said before continuing to walk down the hall to his room.

"I understand milady." He said casually.

We reached the door to his room, I stopped and looked at him.
"Here is your room, it is right across from mine." I pointed to the door that lead to my room and smiled.
"Thank your highness." I rolled my eyes at the name.

"Please don't call me that...or milady or princess." I asked.
"Then what shall I call you?" He looked at me like he's always called someone formally.
"Corinna." I said.

He smiled and me and nodded. I turned around and walked into my room and closing the door behind me.

I sat on the bench that was next to the window in my room, reading a book. Suddenly there was a soft knock on the door.
"Come in." I said, putting the book down and standing up.

My mother walked in and left the door open.
"I was thinking that you should show Mr. Skywalker around the village. Or maybe you could show him some of your favorite spots." She said all in one breath.

I thought about it for a moment. I wasn't feeling up for a walk.
"I think it would be good for you to get some air. Maybe you could bond with him, you don't have very many friends."
I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"Fine." I groaned.

She smiled before pushing me out the door. Anakin was already waiting down stairs by the entrance.
"Have fun, and stay safe!" my mother yelled. She sounded like I was leaving to go on a date.

I walked out of my castle for the first time in a week. The air smelled like flowers and pine. The soft breeze felt amazing on my skin. I walked down the path with Anakin right next to me.

"It's a beautiful day." I exhaled.
"Very beautiful." I turned to Anakin to see him staring at me.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked.
"I'm not looking at you like anything." He chuckled.

I rolled my eyes again and looked forward. I followed the path to the village, Anakin kept drifting away from the path due to him looking at the scenery.
"Not used to seeing trees?" I asked. All around us was just trees and some flowers.
"I was born on a planet full of sand, and now I live on a planet with skyscrapers and buildings every where."
"What are these planets called?" I asked. I had only ever been on Altre and I never learned about any other planets.

"I was born on Tatooine and now I live on Coruscant." He said. I could feel his blue eyes on me but I didn't dare look up at him.

Soon we reached the village. People roamed the streets, talking, laughing, playing. I frowned knowing that I used to do the same.
"Princess Corinna is back!" A small child yelled to it's friends. I gave a fake smile and continued walking through the town.
"We are so glad you are back Princess. We all missed you." A kind lady whose name I could not remember said to me.
"I missed coming to visit you all." I said honestly.

"Who is this handsome young man?" She asked, turning to Anakin. I stifled a giggle and smiled.
"Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight."
"Pleasure to meet you." Anakin said, shaking the lady's hand.

I said goodbye to her and walked down to the large garden. Anakin followed closely behind me.
"This is my favorite place." I muttered. I looked down at all the fresh flowers and genuinely smiled.
"My parents and I build this garden years ago, ever since I've loved coming here and smelling the flowers." I told Anakin.

I picked a peony and breathed in its scent. I noticed Anakin staring at me. I secretly smiled before holding the flower out for him to smell. He inched towards me and plucked it from my hand. I watched him breathe in and out. A grin formed on his face.

"Smells wonderful. " He said.

I grinned and continued through the garden. It was peaceful, and I missed this greatly.
"Milady, we should head back soon...before dark." I heard Anakin say. I turned to him and frowned.
"Please, another hour." I practically begged. I hated that I no longer had any free will.
"I'm sorry but it's safer in your palace than out here." He said.

I groaned and began to get mad.
"This is ridiculous!" I shouted, throwing my hands up.
"I hate having a babysitter, I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself." I continued. Anakin stayed silent and aloud me to finish.

I started to breathe heavily. Anakin looked at me with a straight face.
"I am not a babysitter, I am a Jedi. And I'd much rather be anywhere else." Anakin shouted back.

"I don't see why I need protection." I mumbled.
"I don't know why I was sent to do this mission, they could have picked anyone else." Anakin said, turning around and walking away.

"Where are you going?" I shouted at him. It started to get dark and I got scared.
"Wait up!" I chased after him and grabbed his arm. He turned around and glared at me.

"Oh so now you want me to protect you." He said smuggly. I crossed my arms over my chest. I said nothing mainly because I had nothing to say.
"Come on Princess." He grabbed my upper arm and dragged me out of the village.

Kinda a crappy chapter but it's only the beginning :))))
And the dress she is wearing is the one Padme wore in the second movie when her and Ani first kissed. I just love that dress so.
