Sonnet No. IX, (Blank Verse)
Breathtaking

Transported ― this he wonders does she come
To curse, or give him hope? Is this a ploy?
This day his wind was seized beneath his chest,
And heaven's wings did come to touch his face,
Unconscious devotion came to unlock
His heart, a sweet perfumed bouquet awoke
Him suddenly, resistance nevermore
To saddle trust; her voice reverberates
Supplanting stars, a seraph's gift of love
So chaste, and hence her power she divulged;
However, why was happiness denied
Before, and what authority decides?
For he arrived a shattered heart destroyed
And only honesty will heal such pain.
(A.N. Blank verse is non rhyming lines that uses iambic pentameter rhythm.)
