"You're useless. Your apologies mean nothing."

Luke curled into himself, shying away.

"Look at me when I'm speaking to you!"

Luke felt a sharp pain on his cheek. He looked up at the man he once loved, only to see him laughing.

"You're so pathetic and weak, it's hilarious!"

Another slap. "I-I'm s-so so-sorry," Luke said, letting the tears slide down his cheeks.

"I love you, Lukey. But you have to learn," his boyfriend said, before kicking Luke in the stomach.

Luke coughed and wheezed and all his boyfriend did was look at him and smile.

His boyfriend sat down next to him again, and stroked his cheek softly, brushing away Luke's tears. He leaned in, until their lips were almost touching, then pulled away and spat in Luke's face.

"You filthy rat," Luke heard him mutter as he turned away and walked into the kitchen.

This was when Luke made a dash for the bedroom. His ran in there, locked the door and hid in the wardrobe.

He took his phone out of his pocket and automatically dialed Ashton's number.

Ashton picked up almost immediately.

Luke gulped, his boyfriend was yelling again, wondering where the hell Luke went to.

"Hi, Ash," Luke whispered quietly, still afraid of being heard.

Ashton was silent for a moment.
"Hey Luke. Why're you whispering?"

Luke took a deep breath, trying to calm down. "He's here again, and he's mad at me."

"Fu--okay, Luke. Is he throwing things again? Has he hurt you? Where are you right now?

Luke could hear his boyfriend approaching the door. Oh damn it.

His boyfriend was now pounding and kicking the door.

"He's--" Luke was cut off when his boyfriend kicked the door down. He opened the wardrobe and Luke screamed as he dragged him out and threw him on the floor. This is never how anyone plans on coming out of the closet, even though Luke was out of it ages ago.

His boyfriend held an expensive glass lamp in his hand as he stared menacingly down at Luke.

"Nonono st-stop! You said you'd never h-hurt me!"

The man above him looked amused as he studied the lamp then glanced at Luke again. He looked like he was about to throw it.

"Stop! Put the lamp down, please!"

Luke heard a faint buzz come from the phone that lying near him. Oh, Ashton's still on the other end.

Without warning, the lamp was thrown at Luke, just barely missing head. The shards still pierced his skin though, and he felt a slight stinging sensation.

His boyfriend screamed at him again, but Luke scrambled to get up and ran to where the phone was, picking it up quickly.

"O-okay, I'm back now. He br-brought me back to h-his again a-and he was wor-worse than u-usual."

Luke then felt a warm sticky sensation trickle down his forehead. "Oh god, should my h-head be bl-bleeding? That's b-bad I th-think."

Luke heard Ashton take a sharp intake of breath. "Oh, uh, oh gosh...Luke, I need you to get out of there and get to somewhere where you're safe. Can you do that?

Luke shook his head, but then realised that Ashton couldn't see him.

"I c-can't. He lo-locked the d-door."

His boyfriend appeared in the doorway, smiling widely, and grabbed Luke's wrist. Luke dropped the phone and he was then dragged to the opposite side of the room.

Luke screamed again when he saw that his boyfriend had an empty beer bottle in his hand. The last thing Luke saw before passing out was the bottle flying towards his face.

~~~~~
When Luke woke up again, he was surrounded by police officers and there was someone tending to the wounds in his head.
"We wanted to get him out of here before you could see him again, but he fought against us so violently that we had to let him stay until you woke up. It was either that or pepper spray him, and he just looked so...defeated. We probably shouldn't have let him stay until now, it's ill advised. But he said he just has to say some things to you, and then he'll be gone. You'll never have to see him again, how's that sound? Great, I'd imagine," the lady wiping his forehead with disinfectant said softly.
"Yeah..." Was all Luke could manage to say.
"We'll bring him in, alright? Don't worry, he's handcuffed and heavily restrained."
" 'Kay," Luke mumbled.
And then there he was. His abuser, boyfriend (now ex), was standing in front of him again.
This time, though, as he stared into Aaron's eyes, all he could see was the remains the the person he used to be. No longer was he violent, nor happy, or depressed.
No.
This time he was broken.
