Calum wakes up because: there was somebody crushing him, and there was also a bright light shining in his eyes.

It turns out that Ashton fell off the couch and used Calum as a pillow while he slept. And Luke woke up earlier, and shone the flashlight on his phone on Calum and Ashton.

Calum yawned and tried to pry Ashton off of him. Ashton just grunted and hugged him tighter. Calum looked up at Luke helplessly.

Luke got the message and rolled Ashton off of Calum. Ashton landed on the floor with a thump, but still didn't wake. Calum heaved a sigh of relief, and whispered a quiet ‘thank you’ to Luke. Luke just smiled. Damn he's got a killer smile, Calum thought. He immediately shook off that thought though, sighing in frustration.

“Should we wake him up or...?” Calum whispered.

“Not now. Leave him be,” was the response.

Calum nodded his head. “Hey Luke, do you want breakfast?”
Calum figured he'd be polite because Luke looked a small bit uncomfortable.

“Oh, um, yeah. Thanks.”

It was still quite dark, because it was only 6am, so Calum blindly walked down the hall and into the kitchen. “Luke? I forgot to ask what you actually wanted for breakfast, ” Calum whisper-shouted down the hallway.

Calum heard the sound of feet dragging against carpet, and then Luke poked his head around the doorway. “Well, Lucky Charms would be nice, thanks,” he grinned.

“Oh so you're a cereal kind of guy?”

“Um, who doesn't like cereal?”

“...bears? I don't know man,” Calum shrugged.

Luke giggled and Calum melted a little bit. How is it possible for giggles to be that cute?
That's it. My brain needs to shut up, Calum mentally scolded himself.

“How do you know that bears don't like cereal?”

“Well if you must know, my friend's cousin's brother's dog knows a bear. They're great friends. They usually have sleepovers and whatever. Anyways, that's not the point. The bear says the he doesn't like cereal. So ha!” Calum huffed triumphantly.

Luke shook his head and smiled.

It was then that Calum realised that he hasn't gotten Luke his cereal yet. Oops. He got the cereal box from the cupboard and grabbed a bowl and milk. Luke seemed to be analyzing everything he was doing, so Calum was sure not to screw up pouring milk. He has some dignity.

He handed Luke his cereal and a spoon. “Thanks, Calum,” Luke smiled again. If he keeps smiling like that then Calum thinks he's gonna lose it. No one can possibly smile that much. Although smiling is nicer than frowning.

“Do you want a drink too? I don't really mind.”

“Nah man. I'll drink the cereal milk. I'll have you know that it actually tastes really nice,” Luke laughed. Calum often drinks the milk too though, even though he usually eats it dry.

“That's a valid point. Hey Luke, do you know what time it is now?”

“Well it's been about ten minutes since you woke up, so it's now 6:12.”

Calum nodded. Luke seems very different this morning. It's like he's come out of his shell. Not that Calum minds too much...

“Do you usually wake up this early, Lucas?”

“Okay, first of all: Ew no, not ‘Lucas’. And second of all: how'd you know my real name? You're not some phsyco/murderer/stalker are you? Because if you are then I'm afraid I may have to go...attend to Pengy at home. He gets really lonely sometimes. But to answer your queston, no I don't. Not really. But I don't know, my sleeping pattern gets pretty messed up sometimes.”

“First of all: Um, yes Lucas. Lucas is a great name. And second of all: I just knew your full name because I can read minds. And seriously? ‘Attend to Pengy?’ I'm sure Pengy could survive on his own for a while. But um, my sleeping schedule is always messed up. But even so, I'd never be able to get up this early on a normal morning.”

Luke stared blankly at him, trying to register everything that Calum said because frankly, he was quite tired.

“Right...But hey, priorities. Pengy comes first, always. Still though, not Lucas. Luke is just fine,” Luke said through a mouth full of cereal. Calum rolled his eyes snorted, which must have been very attractive.

Calum reckons that Ashton probably won't be up for about another 5 hours or so...What's he gonna do until then?

A/N: I'm gonna end this chapter here because I wrote all of this aaages ago and now I have a severe case of writer's block. I'm only posting this because I'd feel guilty if  I didn't upload something.
When I have time I'll write more, because there'll need to be a second part to this because it's v short. I'm really tired today and I'm actually brain dead at the moment.
And yes, I know this story is an absolute pile of crap, but eh.
Ily and stay...weird/lovely! (Btw this was not proof read, so yup.)
