The isolation of the city at this time was strange. Where did everyone go? The officials in the station? The pedestrians that are up to no good in the streets at night? Gone. The only sounds in the streets of the city where motors and honks here and there. The large men lugged Andrew out of the cell and held him very firmly by his underarms. Andrew shake and attempted to wriggle free from the grasp of the men. The small female walked gracefully in front of him. Andrew didn't have time to observe her features. Where are the officers? Andrew wondered. Before he had fallen asleep the station was full of officers attending to their own business. But now, the station was isolated.
Andrew eventually gave up and just let life take over. These men were obviously trained very well to resist an escape. The odds at this point envy me. Andrew thought. When they reached outside Andrew saw the abandoned streets on New York. This is really odd. Out a couple of meters away from the station stood a U-Haul truck. It seemed to be used very often because the white of the truck had a hint of yellow on it. The rims of the wheels were covered with what seemed to be dirt. Both men shoved Andrew on the floor. His nose hit the wet concrete of the sidewalk.
"What the hell do you want with me?" Andrew said in despair. One of the men walked towards the U-Haul truck. He opened the doors and climbed inside. The other man just stared at Andrew. His metal rod gleaming in his hand.
"Andrew, don't resist. We are only trying to help." the female said. Through the lights of the city Andrew saw the girl. She seemed to be about the same age of Andrew. Maybe younger. She had nice long curled brown hair that reached her shoulders. Her eyes were a brownish color. Wow she's pretty. Andrew thought. The sight of the girl oddly calmed Andrew down.
"Just please explain to me what's going on! Where is everyone? How did you find me?" Andrew yelled in despair. The girl paid no attention to his questions. She strut across the street and into the U-Haul truck. It was only Andrew and the guard. His eyes never lost gaze from Andrew. I should run now. Now's my chance.
Andrew jolted up very quickly. He shoved the guard away from him and ran. He sprinted as fast as he could. His legs ran very fast. The rhythmic movement of feet scraping along the road. His breath panted as he ran. He didn't have time to look back. To see where his capturers were. A loud honk erupted behind him. The damn truck Andrew remembered. The U-Haul truck halted just feet in front of him. No more running. No escape. One of the men came out of the truck with his rod.
"Please!" Andrew whimpered like a wimp. The guard had a furious look on his head. He lifted the rod and struck Andrew right across the nose. The pain shot through his face. The guard followed through and swung the rod again. Again and again the rod smacked Andrew on the face. After 5 good hits to the face Andrew fell back. The light of him gone. His nose poured blood the leaked onto the wet road. The guard bent down and lifted Andrew's unconscious body from the road. The female hopped out of the truck.
"What did I tell you? We aren't supposed to hurt him! And what did you do? You knocked him out!" She yelled. The guard opened the back of the U-Haul truck and threw Andrew in the back. "The ends justify the means, my dear Jennifer." the guard responded. Jennifer sighed and entered the front of the truck. The guard followed. The truck came back to life and sped away. Not a trace of Andrew left in the station. They had him. There was no escape. It was a defeat.
