Chapter Three

Sisters Of Mercy

The guy in the north pole or wherever told us to find a guy named Chester. We walked through some wierd hallways with pipes. We heard noises and saw some people.
"Well if it isn't the damn wonder twins" Murphy said looking at the boy and girl infront of us. Everyone started hugging them.
"Oh! Thirteen this is Mack and Addy the two I told you we had gotten separated from" Warren said
"What happened to Cassandra?" Mack muttered to doc as I walked past
"Cut it in some barbed wire. Now it's all infected" doc explained
10k has been helping Cassandra out. Cassandra seemed to take a sudden disliking to me.
"Hey Chester? Chester you have my team?" We heard from another room. I raised my gun and started walking along with the others.
There was a monitor with a man on it.
"Oh woah! Hey it's you!" He said looking at us
"Hey addy! Oh...you must be Mack. I thought you'd be taller" he said glaring at the screen.
"And I thought you'd be old enough to shave" Mack retorted and I laughed
"Who's that? She's knew" the man said
"Oh this is thirteen we picked her up a few weeks ago" doc said
"Hey Thirteen I'm citizen Z any ways" he said and I smirked at him.
"I have some good news" Simon continued
"Good news would be about forty packages of Oreos and twenty gallons of milk" 10k said bitterly
"Oh yea sorry about that all the food and water you need should be the next room on your left" he said and we started walking out
"Hey thirteen" Simon called out and I turned around
"Stay alive for me?" He said with a smile
I blushed
"O-okay" I stuttered as I walked out. I was blushing as I entered the room. Cassandra shot me a smirk, she had her head on 10k's shoulder but he didn't have his arm around her.I walked over and sat on the other side of 10k. I grabbed a can of an unknown food and doc tossed me the can opener and a bottle of water I thanked him and opened the can, it looked like oranges. Doc also threw me a plastic fork. I started eating the oranges. Soon we were all in the truck and on the road. Warren was driving te SUV with Murphy in the passenger seat. Cassandra, Addy and doc were in the back seat. The trunk was right behind the back seat, the sunroof was over the trunk. 10k,Mack and I were in the trunk. I woke up to see it was a little after sunrise, the sky was pink. Mack sat on the other side of the trunk. 10k's bag was in his spot next to me but he wasn't there. Fear and panic swarmed over me.
"He's looking out the sunroof" Mack said and he looked up. I then relized 10k was standing infront of me. His torso and above was out of the sunroof, outside probably to snipe zombies. I yawned and went to try to sleep again.
Addy had Warren stop the car to give a Z mercy. We kept driving
"Hey look a live  one" Murphy said
"Oh would you look at that another sad kid in a weird floral shirt" doc said. We stopped and a minute later the trunk was opened by Warren.
"This is Sam, go on in Sam" Warren said and the kid hopped in.
"Hey kid! I'm Mack" mack happily introduced himself
"I'm Sam" he said looking at Mack
"I'm Thirteen and the one out the sunroof is 10k he's our sniper" I explained
Sam looked at me and didn't look away for a few minutes.
"Something on my face kid?" I prompted and the kid looked away muttering the word sorry
"So, who's your new boyfriend Thirteen?" Mack teased
"Oh shut up Mack" I said with an eye roll and Mack chuckled
"So how old are you Sam?" I asked
"Thirteen" he replied
"Thirteen? That's my name. I was your age when this hell started" I shrugged
"This hell? What do you mean?" He asked
"The appocolipse?" I said
"The what?" He asked
"You don't know?" I said dumbfounded
"Erm nothing" I said leaning back.
"Your crazy" the boy muttered
"Sometimes kid, I wish I was" I said and closed my eyes. We pulled up to a gate and they tired shooting Mack. Then a women came to the gate.
"Your women can enter but your men have to stay out here" the lady said. The trunk door was open and 10k and I were sitting in it.
"Thirteen are you coming?" Warren asked
"Nah, I'll stay out here" I shrugged.
"Alright" Warren said Cassandra sent me a glare as Warren helped her through the gates along with addy. I sighed and sat back.
"Why'd you stay?" 10k asked me
"Someone with common sense had to" I joked and he smiled.
I yawned
"Tired?" He asked and I nodded
"Then go to sleep thirteen, I'll wake you up in a little bit" 10k said and I nodded and laid back. I used my hoodie as a pillow.

10k POV (cuz why not)

After I told Thirteen she could sleep she laid down and her heavier breathing told me she was asleep. I sat beside her watching her sleep for a few minutes she was so peaceful. I walked over towards doc.
"Hey kid" he said and smiled at me
"Hey doc" I greeted
"So you seem to be pretty close with thirteen huh?" He said and smirked at me
"I guess" I said a little uncomfortable
"Well you'd better watch out she has some fight to her. Cassandra doesn't seem to like her much" doc said
"Well that's their problem" I shrugged.
"Is there really all girls in there?" I asked
"Just keep imagining kid that's all your gonna get" doc advised and I nodded
"I have my eyes on one girl anyway" I shrugged
"Oh no you don't! I see the way you look at thirteen and Cassandra both." Doc pointed out
"I just hope one day you won't have to chose" doc said putting a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged and looked behind me at thirteen who was sleeping still. Later that day a blonde haired lady brought us pie. We great fully excepted and then she went into the tent with Murphy.
"Murphy you lucky dog" I muttered. I turned to the back of the trunk and walked over. I carefully shook thirteen. She woke up and looked at me.
"Hey 10k" she smiled at me and say up. Doc was who knows where. Mack, thirteen and I sat in the trunk eating pie, we saved pie for doc.
"We have to get out of here!" Doc said running over.
"What's wrong doc?" I asked
"What'd you see?" Mack asked
"Zombie bear" doc said
"Your crazy!" Mack said
"No I'm not it just ate a man!" Doc protested
A jeep was coming down the road towards us.
"Look someone's coming" I said and it drove past us. Thirteen picked up the pie tin containing the pie and a plastic fork and handed it to doc who took it happily.
"Where's Murphy?" She asked
"In the tent with little miss sunshine" doc said pointing in the general direction
"Ew" she said and scrunched her nose cutely.
Then a jeep drove by and we saw Warren and Addy.
"Was that addy?" Brandi asked
"No, she never goes anywhere without me" Mack said watching as the jeep sped off.
"Well hate to break it to you but she just did" doc said
Thirteen POV AGAIN
The girls came back a while later and we were confused as hell. That night doc was laying down in the back seat, Murphy was in his wierd tent Mac decided to sit in the passenger seat and 10k and I were laying in the trunk I had on my Pierce the Veil hoodie.
"If you could have one think back what would it be?" 10k asked me
"Music" I said right away
"Not your family?" He asked
"No, they'd probably die or leave me. Besides if they did die music would help get me over it" I said
"You?" I asked looking at him
"My pa" he said sadly
"I had to shoot him. Well, it wasn't him it was it. I sat there staring into it's eyes for hours trying to find him but he was gone. I just wish he was alive to know what I did" he said sorrow in his voice. I wrapped an arm around him.
"Can I tell you a secret?" He asked
"Sure, anything" I shrugged
My real name, it's tommy" he said in a whisper
"What do you prefer me to call you?" I asked
"10k,around them, I want my name to be kept a secret" he shrugged and I nodded.
"Good night 10k" I said rolling into my side.
"Good night thirteen" he said and I closed my eyes it was cold and 10k could tell.
"Let me help" he whispered. He rolled onto his side and wrapped his arms around me and pulled me close to him. I fell asleep in his arms almost immediately. I woke up the next morning with sun in my eyes and the truck moving.
"Why are we moving?" I asked
"Look! One of the love birds are up" doc laughed and I relized 10k's arms still wrapped around me.
I sat up carefully removing his arms.
"You two are so cute falling asleep in each other's arms" doc teased
"Yea just freaking adorable" Cassandra said annoyed.
I rolled my eyes
"Where's Mack and addy?" I asked
"Addy stayed with the sisters and Mack is wandering around near the sisters camp site somewhere" Warren called from the front.
I sighed sadly. I looked over at 10k who was stilll sleeping.
"He sat awake half the night making sure you were okay" Doc said looking behind him at us.
"He did?" I asked and Doc nodded
I looked back down at 10k. He looked peaceful when he slept.
