Chapter 12- Meeting Audrey at the Astronomy Tower.

You sat there on the ledge of the astronomy tower trying to settle your feelings.

"Hello? Is anyone in here?" A female voice speaks from the dark. You stood and pulled out your wand and pointed it towards the darkness.

"Dude, calm down! I'm not here to attack you or anything!" Says the owner of the voice and she comes out.

"Hi! I'm Audrey Miller! Seventh year Hufflepuff." She grins and gives her hand for a handshake.

You lowered your wand and stuffed it in your pocket. You take her hand and and you say, "(Y/n) Black. Fifth year Gryffindor. Are you a prefect? Because if you are, then I wasn't here."

Audrey laughs and says, "No I'm not."

She sits on the ledge and you join her.

"So, what brought you out here?" She asks staring at the glittering night sky.

"Umm... Feelings... I've just got so many feelings that I can't settle! It's so frustrating!" You say.

"Hey let it out! Tell me! It's not like I have friends anyway. I'm not going to spread it..."

This made yourself feel sad. You could relate to this. Everyone was shunning you out nowadays. You didn't have any friends either.

"So where do I begin? I am-" you say but you get cut off by a bark.

"WOOF!" It was that same black dog back at diagon alley!

The dog goes to Audrey and she scratches it's ears.

"Snuffles meet (Y/n). (Y/n), Snuffles. He's not my dog but he's my friend. Perhaps my only friend..."

She says and Snuffles whines comfortingly. Audrey smiled at the dog and beckoned him to go to you. Snuffles obliged and came to you. You coo at the dog and brushed his shaggy mane.

You noticed that its eyes were the same as the one at Diagon Alley. But you couldn't help but wonder how the dog had traveled and reached all the way here at Hogwarts.

He licks you with so much enthusiasm that your whole face becomes a wet sponge.

Audrey laughs. "Now I'm jealous!" She jokingly teased you and Snuffles snuck back into her arms, as if he heard her.

You smile when suddenly you hear snogging noises behind you.

Audrey turns her back to the moonlight but you continue staring at the moon, not ready to face Fred and Amaria again.

Audrey turns back to you, shaking her head in disbelief. "I can't believe they still continue this. I thought that couple from my first year would be my first and last time watching seventh-years snog."

You chuckle slightly at her irritated yet kidding tone. Wait! Seventh years?

You forget that you're sitting on the ledge and tumble backwards as your grip leaves the ledge and loud THUD you fall onto the snogging couple.

You disrupt the two lovebirds but the guy was getting real mad. He lit up his wand and... you gawked in shock.

"P-P-Percy?"

Percy stares back at you in shock. Penelope stood behind him trying to fix her hair in panicky hurried moves.
Next to you, Audrey raises a shocked eyebrow. "Head...b-boy!"

Penelope shifted from behind Percy, trying to flatten her skirt. Audrey's eyes widened even more. "And head girl?"

Silence hung awkwardly.

Audrey burst into roars of laughter. Penelope blushed a furious shade of red and muttered "Told you not to use the Astronomy tower" to Percy, sending Audrey into more fits of laughter. Percy glares angrily at her.

"Awww! Is liwttle Pewcy Weasley mad? Or what? Is the hewad bwoy gonna weport us to Mcgonagall?" She pouts and taunts in a baby voice. This time it was you who burst into giggles.

"Why you little fiend of Hufflepuff!" He growls.

"Aww! Thank you!" She says acting touched. You mentally grin.

"You are lucky that I-" He says but she cuts him off.

"That you were breaking the rules and snogging the head girl." She says coolly.

"You are off the hook. For now." He growls and starts walking towards the exit of the astronomy tower.

"You mean, you are off the hook from Mcgonagall's wrath!" She shouts.

"This is why you don't have friends!" He shouts back.

You see Audrey's eyes fill up with tears. Your fists curl up and turn white. Even though you had only known her for a few minutes or so, Audrey was one of the only people who would understood you.

"No! I am her friend!" You shout angrily at the head boy.

"Yeah. The daughter of Black." He snorts and leaves pulling his girlfriend along with him.

You could sense that Audrey was hurt. Your main aim at the moment was to quickly change the topic and befriend this girl.

"How about I tell you my story?" you say smiling and then you sit on the ground next to the ledge. You didn't want to fall off the astronomy tower and die. Something gave you the feeling that someone would get thrown off this tower and die in a few years.

Audrey sniffles a bit and sat opposite to you and Snuffles joined you two.

You started, "I am (Y/n) Black. Daughter of Sirius Black-" You wait for Audrey's reaction but she gave you a smile which said 'carry on'. "My mother, she-she is the only one I have a-and she expects dad to come home after he escaped. Dad, Merlin alone knows where he is, is busy trying to kill Harry Potter. Well, that is what the ministry believes... Dad is actually innocent. Mom believes it too. They say that he, dad, gave out the Potter's hiding location. But actually he had switched the position of secret keeper with Pettigrew who gave out the location of the Potters-" you explained in tears to her about how broken your mother was, how broken you felt when you saw Fred and Amaria together and she listened to everything you sat there giving you comforting gestures without a peep. Snuffles had comfortingly whined a little bit here and there.

"I can relate to your love life..." She says looking out. You questioningly raised an eyebrow. She smiled at you and continued, "Percy and I we used to be friends till fourth year. He used to be my only friend... Anyway, we had a fight and we never became what we were ever again... I couldn't help but grow feelings for him... Then he started dating Clearwater... I came here as much as I could to keep myself sane, after that I met Snuffles!" She says playfully petting him and he barks.

She glanced at the clock in the astronomy tower. 12:45 am.

"I better get going! Hogsmede trip tomorrow. Would you join me? It's okay if you don't want-" she says but you cut her off saying, "Meet you at Honeydukes at 10!"

You get up and walk to the exit but giving her small 'see you tomorrow'. You walked to your dorm and lied down on your four poster bed, feeling excited (for the first time in a few days) to go to Hogsmede. Not alone. But with your friend. Audrey Miller.
