Chapter 10: Break Time Start

Start from the beginning

You processed everything, and adjusted yourself to the kid's height and ruffled his hair chuckling.

"That's adorable!"

The boy looked at you confused and then looked at Lukas speaking in Norwegian.

Your companion replied back as the conversation went on.

The boys expressions changed from confusion to surprised then to a mischievous one.

Finally the boy left and went behind the counter of the store to the back door.

"What was that about?"

Lukas simply shrugged making you suspicious of his actions.

You decided to leave it alone since you know that at some point he'll tell you the conversation on the road.

"Ah, I didn't expect you to be here until next week!"

You both turned around to find an older looking guy around his fifties or early forties.

"Sorry for the inconvenience." Lukas spoke back in English.

The man then noticed you.

"I didn't expect you to bring some company Lukas." He looked at you. "I thought you worked alone."

"This is my apprentice (Y/n)." You gave the man a smile as you nudged his foot.

Apprentice? Really now Luke Skywalker? What am I? Your padawan?

"Ah, of course!" The man gave out a laugh. "Many youngsters these days want to become a troll hunter, this one might've start out a little late."

You laughed awkwardly with the man and shifted your feet.

Later on after talking for an hour. You and Lukas left off with some new equipment and some spare clothes.

"Really?" You looked at him with your half closed eyes. "Your apprentice?"

"The association doesn't allow any civilians to accompany the hunter so it's smarter to say that you're my apprentice." He answered in a calm manner.

"Isn't there a registration for being an apprentice or something?"

"There's no need for registration unless you're coming to the association yourself asking for a mentor." He replied.

"And this association is where you register and stuff to become a hunter?"

"Troll hunters are already the hunter for every creature, but some hunters specify themselves to some certain creatures." He explained as he got one of the spares from the stack you were holding.

"Like what?"

"Sirens, harpies, griffins, etcetera."

You rose your eyebrow at the sirens part, but maybe it was better left off.

After he took the last item in your arms you sighed in relief that the heavy stack was gone.

You stretched your arms and jumped.

"So what's next?"

"Rest? It's been a stressful first week."

You rolled your eyes and smiled.

Of course you had to agree with him.Your first week in this country got you into trouble with a cult and a troll hunter. Now that was stressful. You even managed to get temporarily kidnapped by the cultist.

You though hard one what you two should do since it would be boring without anything to do for a day.

Sleeping sounded fun, but you wanted to get to know him more. After all he's stuck with you for two months, you'd be total strangers traveling together if you don't introduced yourselves.

"How about we go to a coffee shop?" He suggested.

Shit, he read my mind again.

You sighed and gave a thumb up at him.

It was time for rest. A break from everything after a eventful week full of trouble it was time for rest...

I'm so sorry for the boring chapter! I just wanted to update because it's my exams next week and I need to study some shit down since I've got another letter that my Filipino is on the edge of failing which I'm scared of. Though I might end up procrastinating again and updating xD

Auf Wiedershen for now!
