New Beginnings

Hey Everyone.
I just have some notes that may be helpful to read before starting on my fanfic.
-This fanfic is about Bondi Rescue so if you have not seen that... see it! then read this.
-I don't own the lifeguards (obviously) but I thought I should declare that anyway.
- I have no idea what they are actually like as I have never met any, so I kind of made up their personalities a bit. Some of them are not even that similar to how they are on the show.
-I know I have got the age wrong, and just made some other logistical errors.
-But its just for fun, so I hope you enjoy it and if enough people read it and like it I will update it.

"Hey Sweetheart!" Dad opened the door to the lifeguard tower and embraced me in bone crushingly tight hug. "Who is it Reidy?" yelled Deano. I knew his voice and his name from the TV show Bondi Rescue. My Dad and his work colleagues were all lifeguards at Bronte, Tamarama and Bondi Beach. I had not physically seen Dad for 3 years but he was still just the same. Loud and excitable.

"This is my daughter Soleil Bluebell Melody Reid! But call her Sol or Soleil for short"

"Are those middle names or all your first name Sol?" Deano asked, a slight look of concern on his face.

"They are my middle names, Dad just likes to show off his naming skills. Mum had no choice in my name" I laughed.

"Well he has gotta have a skill somewhere... He is pretty useless as a waterman" Harries laughed.

"Oi dont be sayin that in front of my daughter." Dad laughed. "I want her to be proud of me!" and he crushed me in another hug.

"So Soleil what are you doing here love?" asked Harries. But before i could answer Dad butted in.

"Soleil has been going to a school 200 kilometres inland of Western Australia. She was top of her class in every class so she was too bored there. Her mum thought it would be good to send her to a better school in the city. So she is staying with me too go to school and finish year 12."

"well thank-you Soleil! for that THOROUGH explanation" Harries laughed staring at Dad.

"Very impressive" Said Deano.

"I forgot to introduce everyone!" said Dad and butted in again.

"This is Harries and Deano" he gestured to the two men who had been making conversation and then gestured to the people who had been sitting quietly and listening. "This is Hoppo, Gonzo, Jesse, Maxi and Bacon." They smiled and said Hello. I was mildly embarrassed that Dad had blurted out pretty much my life story to every one in the lifeguard tower. But i always knew he would be like that. He would definitely win the prize for the most embarrassing Father.

"Well Dad I just came to ask for directions to the house, because you gave me the road but not the house number."

The boys erupted in laughter. "Typical Reidy" I heard someone say. I laughed along with them. Although my dad is always the butt of jokes. I love him, he makes me happy and just wants to make people laugh.

We walked back towards the door and I waved goodbye to everyone. Dad gave me the directions, gave me a hug and sent me on my way. To 49 Canal Road, Bondi.

"See you later tonight Darling. Try not to get up to too much mischief, oh and go say hi to Mugsy! You have not met him yet!"

I waved to him and laughed as I shut the door behind me, and fully took it in. I was in the world famous Bondi Beach, was staying with my Dad who I had not seen in years, and was due to start at a great new school in a few weeks! I could not be happier.
