The Accident

*Kimberly's POV*

I was finishing getting ready when we heard a knock on the door. Those must be the contest winners!

They didn't really tell us much, but all we know is that it's the winner's birthday today!

I heard Annie, our cousin, say that she'd get the door, and I quickly finished getting ready for the show when Reid and Neil came over.

"Are you ready?" Reid asked.

I smiled and nodded, and we made our way to the front lounge, where we were supposed to meet them. I smiled as I saw a group of 4.

"Hi I'm Kimberly!"

The adults smiled, and a woman stuck her hand out and said "I'm Charli! I'm with the radio station!"

I shook it and said "Nice to meet you! These must be the contest winners!"

Charli nodded, and the other woman with curly black hair and dark eyes, said "Hi! I'm Jessica, and this is Dan."

She gestured to the tall, blonde man at her side, I smiled at him, and he smiled back.

"And we're actually here because you are our daughter, Bella's hero! It's her birthday today! And we're so grateful she gets to spend it with you!"

I couldn't help but smile at that when I finally spotted her.

She was really tiny, and had frizzy, curly blonde hair. She was curled up reading Neil's copy of Harry Potter that he must have left out.

I laughed and Neil walked up by her and said "Ooo That's a good one! What part are you at?!"

I couldn't help but grin when she answered with a cute smile.

"I'm at the part where Harry uses the resurrection stone! It's my favorite part!"

Neil said "Mine too!"

Bella smiled and looked up for the first time. I couldn't help but laugh when her eyes just about popped out of her head when she realized that she was talking to Neil.

Her hand started shaking when she saw Reid standing there as well, and then when her gaze landed on me, she looked conflicted.

Suddenly she got up, and ran up to me and hugged me.

I laughed and crouched down so that I could hug her back.

"You must be Bella!" I said with a smile.

She just nodded and said in a shy voice, "You're my hero I want to be just like you!"

I couldn't help but choke up a little at that, and grinned at her.

"Aww you're so sweet baby girl!"

I let her go, and then Reid and Neil walked up to her with grins on their faces.

"How old are you sweetie?" Reid asked with a smile.

She dropped her gaze to the ground, and said shyly "I turn 12 today."

Aww she was so cute!

Neil crouched down so that he was at her height, and said "Aww so you're the birthday girl! Kimberly's got something for you!"

That was when I remembered! The cake I baked! I quickly ran into the small kitchen that the tour bus was equipped with, and grabbed the vanilla cake with strawberry icing that I had baked when I was bored. I added the candles we still had from Reid's birthday, careful not to put them in the letters spelling out "Happy Birthday".

I made my way back to the front room, and she was facing Reid and Neil. They saw me there, so they gently spun her around so that she could see the birthday cake.
