"Oh no, where did all the years go
And was it really worth all of this
Heartache that was handed to me
Holding on just don't make sense
But the hardest part of letting go
Is tryin' to find a way
To let you know"-Jason Walker, Cry

"I can pay for the rooms." Elena offered Ryker as we were sitting in the lobby of the Sheraton Paris Hotel at three in the morning. Ryker was going to refuse, but Elena reached into her wallet and pulled out her credit card, handing it to the clerk behind the desk.

"Ry, you've paid for everything else. I want to help you out." She replied, the bags under her eyes didn't seem as dark when she gave my stepfather that smile that brightened up her whole face.

The clerk handed her back the card, "Have a nice stay, Mlle Delgado. You're rooms are on the second floor, room 245 and 246. Here are your keys." The man's thick French accent made it difficult to understand what he was saying, but at least he could speak English.

Elena politely thanked the man before giving Ryker a room key. The tired demigod stared at it, then looked back to Elena and I. I was standing by her side, her shoulder was pressed up against me.

"No. Boys with me and girl with you." Ryker negotiated. Zal and Dane didn't contribute much to the conversation since they were asleep on the lobby's couch, laying on either side of it, their heads resting on the arm rests and occasionally kicking the other in their sleep.

"Ryker, we're adults-" I tried to reason with him. Ryker shook his head not having any of it, "I don't care if you're adults, I'm responsible for you. Besides, I want to get a few hours of sleep in before we leave for wherever tomorrow. I don't want to be kept awake by the two of you next door."

Elena looked down at the ground, bowing her head, muttering, "Ry, Kai and I won't be doing anything." I glanced down at the small girl next to me, a little hurt by her dismissal. Here Elena and I will be in a room, alone, we will be able to lock the door that isn't a century old and in an actual bed. Yeah, I wanted to have sex with her. I've been craving for her, just wanting to feel her bare skin underneath mine again.

My stepfather shook his head, "I trust you, it's him I don't trust." Ryker's gaze drifted from Elena to me.

I groaned, annoyed and tired from the long plane ride, "Ryker-"

Elena cut me, off by humbly mumbling under her breath, "Ever since the shadow things attacked...I've had trouble at night, and it just helps me sleep better if Kai is there with me." Her cheeks brightened to a soft pink tone, making her face look that much more adorable. I loved it that she found comfort in me, like I did with her.

Ryker looked to Elena with a softened gaze at hearing her confession, "Alight, as long as nothing sexual happens. We need as much sleep as we can get. Kai, can you wake up Zal?" Ryker asked before turning his back to us to walk back to the couch, lifting Dane's sleeping form in his arms. Even in sleep, Dane looked tense, his fists clenched, he was always fighting asleep or not.

I walked over, crouching down by my little sister. Her black hair was spread across her face, concealing her from sight, I tucked her hair behind her ear before I gently shook her shoulder. Her eyes fluttered open, golden iris' staring into mine, "What? Is Erebus-"

"No, we're okay. But I think you might feel better sleeping in a bed."

Zal smiled sleepily at me, nodding her head, "Yeah. A bed sounds really good right now." She lifted her head from the couch, sitting up an stretching, letting out a yawn. As tired as she was, she stood up straight, walking determinedly towards the elevator where Ryker was waiting with Dane still in his arms.
