"Don't play with her..." I rolled my eyes as soon as I heard his voice and went to sit down. Here I was out celebrating MY birthday but I still couldn't escape him.
"What's wrong girl? It's ya birthday get up, dance , have fun" my friend Jela yelled over the music.
"You don't hear that?" I asked pointing to the speakers above us. "Oh sorry, I can ask them to change it-" I held my hand up stopping her.
"No it's alright, it looks like everyone else is enjoying it" I sighed grabbing my phone.
"Alright girl, I'ma go get a drink. You want anything?" I shook my head no and opened a text I got from a unsaved number.

"What you smiling at?" I didn't realise I was smiling until she said so.
"Why can't I smile? It is my birthday isn't it?" I smirked standing up to dance once the song changed.
"I love this song!" I cheered when the beat of Dej's song started playing.
"The whole world knows" Jazzy laughed.
"BITCH BACK UP OFF ME!" We sung along with the track getting attention from the DJ who waved at me and mouthed 'Happy Birthday'.
"I WANT EVERYONE TO WISH NICKI AT HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHE OVER THERE LOOKING PRETTY IN VIP!" He yelled through the microphone and everyone looked over at me yelling happy birthday.
"Thank you guys" I giggled shyly.
Then signalled for him to continue playing the music not knowing that what he was gonna play next would piss me off.
"Is he serious right now?!" I semi-yelled. "Calm down Nic" Jela said sympathetically.
"No! I swear he's doing this shit on purpose" I frowned glaring at the DJ as the beat for 'Exchange' started.
"HOLD ON! GUESS WHO JUST ENTERED THE BUILDING! MY NIGGA BRYSON TILLER!" I felt my heart skip a beat.
I froze watching as he approached the DJ booth. "YOU GONNA SING LIVE FOR US?"
He mumbled something back to him but I couldn't make it out.
"COME ON MAN!" He stated handing him the mic.
"Alright if y'all know the words sing along" he said to the crowd gathering around him.
"This what happen when I think bout you,I get in my feelings yeah, I start reminiscing yeah ," he sung looking directly at me.
"Nic you good?" Jela asked and I shook my head no.
"How did he know I was here?" She shrugged.
"I had to change my player ways got way too complicated for me"
"I know she's waiting for me..." I couldn't believe he had the nerve to turn up here. I've been avoiding him for a reason; I didn't want to see him especially not on MY day.
