I wake up to my head on Nicks shoulder, he's holding his stomach. His hand is in a pool of blood. I quickly stand up and grab medical tape out of the first aid kit that came with the RV. He soon wakes up.
"Hey look at you." He says smiling.
I return the smile," yeah you must of got shot in the stomach."
He nods. When I finish the tape I sit back down next to him and put my head back on his shoulder.
"You should probably get some rest. That will help the pain calm down." I say.
He soon nods and leans his head on mine. And with that I fall asleep.

I wake back up, I must of only slept for about an hour at the most. Gunner looks to me, then Nick, then me. I slowly get up and sit next to Gunner.
"So you and him?" He says.
"What! No! He's just I friend. Only a friend." I say playfully punching Gunner in the shoulder. Gunner laughs.
"Sure just a friend." He mutters.
I roll my eyes.
"Is he gonna be okay?" He asks in a more serious tone.
"Yeah. He honestly didn't loose that much blood. It will heal in a few days, but until then he will have some pain."
"When did you become a nurse?" Gunner says. I laugh and go back to sit by Nick.
Nick falls on the floor coughing and puking up blood.
"Um Rachael... is he supposed to do that?" Gunner said worried.
No he's not. That means the bullet has made an infection, he will be dead in a number of hours.
I begin to cry. I've been holding it in since we left Carson in the school. I was always told crying is for the weak. But I can't take it anymore. I begin to cry and Gunner comes and comforts me.
"Rachael I think we should-" I nod before he finishes. I know what he would say.
"Stop the RV!" Gunner yells.
I wipe my eyes and stop crying. We get out of the RV, Gunner carrying Nick and me following. We open the door to a store and go to set Nick down when ten men have us at gunpoint.
"Get out of here!" One yells.
"We were just leaving." Gunner says.
"You talk back to me boy!" The man in the middle yells. He then shoots his pistol the bullet gets Gunner in the stomach. He drops Nick and falls to the ground. "GUNNER!" I yell for help.
"Awe the little girl here wants to save her friend... How cute." Before I knew it I felt the bullet scrape across my neck tearing my flesh. I scream in pain.

Black... all Black...

I gasp for air. I seem to be in what sounds like a van. I hear Gunner and Crystal talking. Then the next thing I know I'm being picked up. I feel the person holding me run.
"L-let me down n-now!" I yell slapping the person in the face.
"No Rachael. You are lucky you are still alive. You can't walk." I hear a familiar voice say.
Gunner!
I stop fighting and let them carry me. I hear Gunner and Crystal talking but I can't make out what they are saying.
Hmm something about a camp. And a high school, and then an escape!
We reach what seems to be a nurses office and I am soon placed down on a bed.
Gunner hovers over me with rubbing alcohol and a gauze pad.
"I don't know how you survived that." He says tending to my wound.
"Me...N-neit-ther." I say with all my breath.
"You are going to have to rest for a few days to heal your wound." He says.
Great now I'm a drag on everyone else's survival.
I nod and Gunner soon leaves Crystal to watch me.
Gunner then enters again after only minutes of being gone. Gunner soon returns with Myles? And another girl, Rather familiar.
"Rachael!" Myles runs and embraces me in a hug.
"Rachael this is Ruby." Gunner says. Ruby waved and I return with a nod.
She seems familiar. Almost like I knew her.
Gunner, Myles, and Crystal then leave. Just me and this Ruby girl. She sits on the chair in the corner of the room.
"Do I... I don't know...like know you from somewhere?" I ask.
"I don't know. You seem familiar too." She says.
Wait.
FlashBack
I see two girls fighting on the screen of the security system. "Hey look." I say. Amber laughs and Blake says," We should go break them up." We begin to walk back to the storage room.
Time skip
"I'm Ruby." She says. Blake smiles and hands her a knife," Welcome to the team." Amber growls silently at the thought.
Time skip
"Amber you are letting your boyfriend cheat on you and you are doing nothing about it! I don't know about you but that's terrible!" I storm off and leave Amber alone.

That night I saw Blake and Ruby making out in the back room. After seeing Blake leave the main room with Ruby there was a terrible scream from Blake. Ruby was no where to be seen and Blake was limb-less on the ground.

Flashback over
I begin to sit up.
"Does the name Blake ring a bell?" I ask.
She freezes," No"
"Well okay then." I say not believing any word she said.
I roll back over and head to sleep.
Time Skip
I wake up to Gunner grabbing me and picking me up.
This must be the escape that he was talking about earlier...
Gunner picks me up bridal style then Myles motions to Gunner.
"I'll carry her." He says. Gunner nods and hands me to Myles.
Myles puts me in his back and heads out the door. They began shooting at the guards. Soon enough we make it to the van. They lay me down in the truck and go back to shooting. My breathing becomes heavy.
It's so hard to breathe. I wish I could help.
I rest my head against the wall. A rustling comes from my pocket. Someone is going through my pocket! I open my eyes and turn to see Gunner rummaging through my pocket,"Sorry." He says. I shrug, "Really sorry" he says.
"Wait." I whisper. I turn slightly on my right hip, sticking my hand in my back pocket and pull out some ammo. I hold it out in my hand and Gunner immediately takes the ammo, hugs me, and goes back to fighting. I go back to resting until I am interrupted by the loud sound of a helicopter. Myles rushes to me and carries me alongside Gunner, Ruby, and Crystal. We continue to run until we all make it to the helicopter. Myles sets me down in the seat of the helicopter and everyone loads on.
Everyone but Gunner...
"Kid we are full." The pilot says," we will come back in 3 days for you okay. Stay here."
Gunner nods. He becomes smaller and smaller as we fly into ten air.
