After brushing my short dark brown hair, and trying to tame it down so it laid neatly above my shoulders, I made my way downstairs. Not bothering to make myself more presentable for my 'big day.'
I went to the kitchen where I grabbed an apple to munch on and my book "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" when I heard a honk blare from outside; must be Anna. After grabbing my bag, and pulling my boots on I went out the door, dreading for what's in store for me today.
=====================================================================================
"Try to have fun Reyna" Anna smiled at me, as I begrudgingly opened the car door.
"I'll try, but that doesn't necessarily mean I will" I whined, looking at her with pleading eyes to take me with her.
"Reyna I can't, and you know that."
I sigh, hanging my head down. "I know."
"Oh and remember I won't be home until 5, you'll be able to make it home by yourself right?" she asked. She had to spend some extra hours at her studio since her official opening day was coming soon, and she wanted everything to be perfect.
I nod and wave at her as she drives down the road. She honks twice and sticks a peace sign out. I grin, somethings just don't change no matter where we are. I stick a peace sign back at her in return.
I take a good look at my school, Olivgton High. It was at least 3 times the size of my high school back home and that was an understatement. I take a deep breath in and say some words of encouragement to myself, than walked up to the front doors.
As I walked through the brightly lit hallways which had gold, teal and silver accents to them I realized I was completely and utterly lost.
I opened my bag and grabbed my schedule out. It said I had physics first in room 325 with Mr. Olson, but no matter where I go I couldn't find that room. It was now 9:10 and I was 20 minutes late...on my first day. At this point I had no other choice left, seeing as I have no clue where the office or my class was I had to ask someone for directions...great.
Just kill me now.
I scanned the hallway and saw a small group of girls crowding together. I walked over them, my palms sweaty in anxiety. I contemplated turning back but it was too late, I was already behind them.
I cleared my throat, trying to catch their attention. Which it didn't. "Um, excuse me" I said, my voice timid.
I caught the attention of a platinum haired girl, who nudged her friends, nodding at my direction. They all turned around and I was taken aback. To say I was surprised is an understatement. All three girls, one of them blonde, while the other two were brunette had a cleavage that would put even Kim Kardashian to shame.
Besides the amount of cleavage they were showing, these girls were flawless. Every strand perfectly in place, their makeup done as if a professional had done it, and their skimpy outfits synchronized with one another. My eye slightly twitched, this was not something I see everyday.
"Um?" a nasally voice broke me out of my thoughts.
"I was wondering if you knew where room 325 is?" I asked quietly.
As if not hearing my question, they all turned away and continued their conversation with one another.
I sighed, just great.
I turned around the corner, away from the triple cleavage squad, my eyes set on the ground in frustration.
"Go down this hall and make 2 rights. 325 should be the first door you see" a raspy low voice said. I turned to the side and saw a dark haired boy who had his head resting back on the glass window with one of his head phones on. His pale complexion evident, and his eyes closed as if he was asleep.
I looked around me, making sure it was actually him who said it. When I noticed that the hallway was empty beside for the two of us, I was sure it was him.
"Um thanks" I said in a low whisper. I didn't think he heard me with his head phones in and all, until he hummed in return.
Just like that boy said, 325 was the first door I saw. I opened the door quietly and all heads turned towards me. I felt very anxious, my palms began to sweat from all the attention.
"Oh hi, please come in" a man who couldn't be more then 45 said. He must be Mr. Olson. He had slightly greying hair, grey eyes that were framed around thin round glasses. He had a kind smile, which made me instantaneously like him.
"Who must you be?" he asked politely.
"Um I'm, um Reyna. Um, I'm the new student" I quietly mumbled, fidgeting in my place. I heard a few snickers and my face heated up embarrassed.
"Well Reyna I'm Mr. Olson and welcome to grade 12 physics" he chimed.
