Chapter 1 I'm New Here
Reyna P.O.V
Todays my first day! Todays. My. First. Day...oh no.
I groan rolling around my bed, not wanting to get up to the disastrous day that is yet to come. I moved here, to Pennington, from a small town named Kitchener. And by small, I really do mean small. The population of Kitchener was about 200 people give or take. The only thing that town had was a library, a few markets, and some parks. No shopping mall, no movie theatre, no amusement park, nothing, zilch zero.
That didn't really bother me too much, since i spent all my time in the library, trying to get my hands on all the best books. I shove my pillow over my ears when I heard my alarm begin blaring right beside me. "Why? why? why?" I mumble.
I can't think of anything worser than having to move town's and go to a random high school in the MIDDLE OF THE YEAR. Not to mention during my grade 12 year too. Its not that I minded being separated by the only friend I ever had back in Pennington, and had to make new friends, not that I will. Its the fact that the high school I was going to was Olivgton High.
I did some research and so did my friend from back home, Jade, and we came to the conclusion that this school was the borderline of snobbiest, preppiest school I have ever heard about. If I had to compare my old school to this one based on school spirit this school would have hit the ball out of the park with my school.
Olivgton High was a high school dedicated to their sports, school spirit, and anything that involves having a lot of "pep". In fact, I have a strong feeling that I would be spending all my time trying to avoid these so called events that are going to be held.
With one last grunt I slammed my alarm off and rolled out of bed...literally. I struggled to get detangled from my sheets and ended up face planting my cold floors once I finally managed to stand up.
"Great" I muttered.
"Reyna! What's all the noise? Are you done getting ready?" my aunt shouted from downstairs.
"I just fell thats it and no I'm getting ready now" I shout back, getting up and putting my glasses on.
"Be ready in 20 minutes, I have to go to work early today" she yelled back.
My aunt, Anna, probably the coolest aunt in the world, is who I live with. My parents passed away when I was 14 to a car accident and since I was really close to my aunt, she became my guardian. I never really liked talking about my parents since it was a sore subject and I'm still not completely over the fact. Its probably one of the reasons why I try to keep things to myself. Anyways, Anna works at a dance studio which she teaches at, one of the main reasons why we moved here.
I lived with Anna for 3 years through thick and thin, and I see her more as the sisterly figure I've never had, than a motherly one. I'm extremely grateful for all she's done, and I can't imagine where I would be if she was never there.
Probably in a foster home waiting to be adopted.
I walk into my bathroom and brush my teeth than took a quick hot bath, splashing my face with some cold water to wake me up. I went over to my closet and got dressed in a pair of black jeans and a white shirt that had a girl with a lion head on it.
Anna bought it for me for my birthday, she had the most original, craziest sense of fashion I've ever seen and I always admired that about her. I could never think of wearing the things she does. I preferred blending in with the shadows and not being noticed, whereas she was a beacon screaming "Look at me!"
