The girl with seemingly endless blonde hair, when she looked at you through the depths of her brilliant blue eyes, you could see who she was; you could see her soul, feel her feelings, know her..

Kit's Point of View:

Thin walls do little to mute noise. Rodney comes to the common mistake that they do as he banters about with his latest love: Karen.

"You can't keep looking through my things, Rod!" I hear her steady voice enunciate each sound, the intensity of her glare felt all the way from my bedroom.

Rodney gives two pops, one for each knuckle, before they touch her cheek. He hops to the conclusion she will submit, but I recognize the kind of strength she holds in her voice. Karen's time here is done, and I will be alone again.

Rodney laughs, bellowing,"Enough Karen! Go to bed."

"Not this time, Rodney. I'm done!" Karen screams, determination ringing in her voice.

Close your eyes and ears, Kit, I think. Shouldn't I know better, though? Thinking I can sleep despite the sound of stolen breath in the room next to me is a commonly mistaken conjecture that I come to! I can't even escape her screams in my dreams!

I jolt up to see his dark silhouette in the doorway.

"Don't worry Kit, it's only me. Karen... won't be bothering us anymore." He chuckled gritting his teeth.

"Yes, sir." I say scooting back as the bed dipped. His facade drops at my actions

"Why are you always moving away from me Kit?" He questions. On the surface it's an innocent concern.

I open my mouth to respond, but instead I yelp as searing pain pins my shoulder to the bed. "No reason to be scared and disrespectful." He growls.

Rod leans closer until I smell his hot breath and almost feel his mouth against mine. I let out a small whine which seems to be enough to tip him over the edge. He grinds against me and begins harshly sucking on my bottom lip. I let out a few tears as he firmly sits on top of me and keeps my arms pinned down. I see his ears perk up as a firm knock comes from the door. He gives me a questioning look, but I simply shrug. Rodney places me back on my bed, correctly, and carefully steps towards the front door.

"What?" Rodney spits at whoever it is that dared bother us.

"The land you occupy is in the process of being taken over by a pack." An unfamiliar voice states. Upon hearing it I retreat back into the corner of my bed.

"Seeing as you are a rogue you can either wait for an inspection and search to join the pack or proceed to prison."

All I hear is the slam of a door. "Go out the window:the cave a couple miles back!" He demands flinging my door open.I waste no time pushing my injured bones out the small window, running as fast as my legs allow.

Jumping out the window, I then collapse into a pile on the ground. You can do this, Kit. I force myself to get up and start into the forest, but I know I won't be able to make it to the cave. I settle with siting under a tree far enough away. I know what your thinking, get your ass out of there, but it's not so simple. As much as I hate the abuse, I have nowhere else to go and no knowledge of how to survive on my own. Rodney gave me food, clothing, and warmth. So I wait, but it doesn't seem like he's going to come.

Making my way back to the house, I listen carefully for any sounds of destruction. I'm hoping maybe the men who scared Rodney will be there and see that I'm not like him- I won't hurt anybody.

"I picked up the scent of a small she-wolf in his house." I tune into a sentence.

"We need to find her, see if she is safe, then decide what to do with her. Rouge she wolves aren't common nor is it tolerable for them to be out in the wild like this." Another says.

I pick up my pace after hearing him, they would help me! Shortly after my ankle catches behind a branch, painful crunch's sent me wincing into the ground. How could they find me now? I need to keep moving, but I can't bring myself to get back up.

"We'll send a search party later, we need to keep moving now, Alpha." The same one stated. They couldn't leave!

"Wait." A man I hadn't heard yet demands the attention of all those around him, he sounded powerful. Somehow handsome, and melodic.

I hear a trembling growl and determined steps as I prop myself onto a tree and tiredly gazed at the approaching man.

"Mate."
