Part 6 of Time Loop! I have like 5 million things I want to write about and incorporate, but sadly there isn't enough room...

Enjoy!

I smiled, watching the boy from afar.  This was his last chance.  It was going to be interesting to see how he used it.

Jae woke up and lay in bed.  He didn't bother checking the time.  He knew what it was. 10 AM, dreaded August 18.  He knew what notifications would be on the screen, the temperature, the wind chill - after all, he had lived through this day for so long.

Jae was tired, no, exhausted. His happiness being drained away didn't help either.  Every time he looped, he felt heavier, his eyes losing their light, his hair and clothing losing their color.

Time had tricked him. Or maybe Time was right, and Jae had allowed himself to be tricked.  Whatever it was, Jae was practically dead. Today was his last chance, and if he didn't succeed, it wouldn't just be Evanlyn dying today.

But Jae knew what he had to do.  Staring at the wall of Evanlyn's broken, shattered clocks, he has realized that there was only one ending to this story - death.  Death was the only way this story would end, and today, it would never repeat again.

The same old schedule. Jae went to the park and sat down on the swings and closed his eyes.  Soon enough Evanlyn came and sat down next to him.

"Hey what up bestie? Having fun sitting here all by yourself?"  Evanlyn's smile was prettier today.  Her eyes were brighter, her hair flowing slightly in the breeze.

"No." Jae looked her straight in the eyes. "I'm not alone anymore, because you're here next to me."

Evanlyn blushed. "Whoa there.  That's a bit sappy, don't you think?" she asked, her face turning pink.

Jae continued. "You are my best friend Evanlyn.  I would sacrifice anything to make sure that you were safe, even my own life."

Evanlyn didn't know where this was all coming from.  "Um, Jae? Are you saying that you li -"

He looked around, cutting her off. "Where's your cat?"

Evanlyn, still pink, searched around. "Over there!" she exclaimed, quickly standing up and brushing herself off. "Um, give me one moment, I need to get him.  I'll promise I'll be back!"

She ran towards the cat, who turned around and started padding towards the street.  Jae followed behind Evanlyn, stopping at the edge of the sidewalk while she walked over to the middle and picked the cat up.

The traffic light turned red. A big white truck came barreling towards Evanlyn. Jae knew what he had to do.  With unknown speed, he ran to Evanlyn and pushed her aside. She fell backwards, far enough so that the truck wouldn't hit her.  But Jae was now in front of the truck.

It hit him was so much force.  The pain was excruciating.  He gasped. Then time slowed down.  He was falling, but very slowly.  His vision starting to blacken, he saw Evanlyn's horrified expression.  He saw people turning to look.  He saw Time, his favorite red look alike, standing at the edge of the sidewalk, red eyes wide from shock.  Black liquid was seeping out from Time's body, and he dissolved into nothing.

Jae smiled.  He knew the time line had to end in death, and it didn't matter who's it was.  Before he looked at Evanlyn one last time.

"You don't know how long I've tried to save you" he thought, smiling at her. "But it's because I love you."

Behind Evanlyn the air shimmered.  A green look like of Evanlyn appeared, her green hair flowing down her back, her eyes glowing.  Jae's eyes grew wide.  "Not again." He thought.  Then he hit the pavement, his neck snapped back, and everything went dark.

The green look alike was in the time continuum.  She looked at the newest pair of clocks that had just appeared. A green one and a red one, both unbroken.  The look alike brought her fist up and smashed the red clock, sending the glass shards everywhere.

"You may have won this time boy" she snarled.  "But I will succeed."

Her green eyes glowed with an evil light, and she disappeared to talk to the girl.
