Time watched from a distance, waiting for the action and drama to begin.

Jae woke up on his bed, with his mom calling for him to wake up.
He sat up and rubbed his head. 10 AM, August 18. Was it all actually a bad dream like he had thought? His best friend, dying? Very unlikely.
He decided to wear what he had worn in his dream. Light brown cargo pants, and a light blue shirt. Anyways, what were the chances that Evanlyn would wear a green shirt and knee high boots? Slim, so slim...
He walked out to the park and sat down on the swing. A slight breeze ruffled his hair. He closed his eyes. "That was the worst nightmare ever." Jae thought. He felt the swing next to him moved. "No" Jae thought. "Please don't let it be her"
But it was. Evanlyn sat on the swing next to him, smiling. "Hey what up bestie? Having fun sitting here all by yourself?"
Jae just stared at her. She was wearing exactly the same thing from her dream - green shirt, tall knee high boots. A black cat with yellow green eyes sat in her lap.
Evanlyn looked confused. "Why such a weird face?" Evanlyn questioned, exaggerating his expression, making her eyes bug out.
"I hate school so much. It fun sometimes, but there is so much to do. I can't wait to be stressed out of my mind!" Jae found himself reciting the exact words from his dream.
"I get you. School is the worst!" Evanlyn agreed. She brushed her long black hair behind her ear. "So much homework... Um. Yeah. So much homework in general..."
She laughed, but Jae didn't. What was going on? It was an exact copy of what had happened in his dream. Jae started to have a bad feeling in his stomach.
Evanlyn's laughter died. "Forget about school for now. We got one week of summer left, and we have to make it count! Want to get some fro-yo? I want to get a brain freeze!"
Jae sat on the swing, waiting for it to happen. The cat jumped off Evanlyn's lap. "No wait! Come back here!" Evanlyn yelled. She was about to take off, but Jae grabbed her wrist. She turned around to look at him. "Let go! I have to get him back!"
"Why don't I get him for you? Follow me." Jae took off running towards the cat, with Evanlyn close behind him. Jae ran out into the street and quickly grabbed the cat, running back towards the sidewalk. "I got him!" he called over to Evanlyn.
A scream from a pedestrian. "Oh my gosh those poles are falling!" Sure enough, metal beams were falling from a 20 story high building in the making. Jae rushed towards Evanlyn, letting go of the cat in the process. But again he was too late.
A pole fell at a high velocity, going straight through Evanlyn's chest and hitting the ground. She gasped, her eyes wild, and fell. Blood was everywhere, splattered against the sidewalk, the surrounding people who had narrowly escaped the falling beams, and Jae himself.
After the danger of the falling beams was over, Jae ran over to Evanlyn. "No not again anything but this please!" But again, it had happened. Evanlyn was gone.
Everything had frozen again. He saw Time, walking towards him, a neutral expression on his face.
"She has died" Time said simply. "Would you like to loop?"
"WHAT" Jae screamed at Time. "Evanlyn's dead. DEAD. How can you be so... so... CALM about this?"
Time just stared at him. "I'm helping you. Would you like to loop?" He extended his hand.
Jae took it, glaring at Time. "Let's do this."
His vision went black, and he faded into nothing

Time accepted the happiness that came from Jae's now empty spot. A 100 on a final exam. The satisfaction washed over him, and he smiled, eyes glowing.
He transformed back into the cat and proceeded to go back in time once more.
