I knew I'd see her around

There she is, walking around in town.

I'd be at some party, she'd show up and I'd be walking out

I showed up to a party. I haven't been to one in years but there she was showing up, smiling and laughing, when I was walking out.

Or across some parking lot hiding behind her sister

I saw her, hiding behind her sister across a random parking lot.

I'd look up, she'd be at the red light beside me

I stopped at the red light and looked at the other car, and there she was her in her fancy car.

In that white Maxima with the sticker on the back

I could spot that car from anywhere.

I'd act like I didn't see her

I see her but I don't act like I do.

We'd pay at the same pumps

She was on the other side of the pump but I didn't say anything.

Flip through the same stations

She loved classic rock too.

And slow down for the same curves

I remember when she drove the Impala and she'd slow down at the same places I did.

Run around with the same crowds

She ran around with people I hanged out with.

We just needed some time

She told me we needed some time.

She could get on with her life and I'd get on with mine

When we broke up, she could get on with her life without me and I could get on with mine.

Thought I would be fine, heh, but maybe not

When she moved out of the bunker and our bedroom was empty, I knew I wasn't going to be okay.

I knew she'd find a way to get over me

But I knew that she was going to get over me after awhile.

But I'd never thought that...

I guess that's just how it goes

I guess she got over us quickly but I guess I knew that would happen.

When you break up in a small town

It sucks breaking up in a small town.

I see our friends and they put on a show

They act like they didn't know we were together.

So they give me the go-around

So they wont talk about her to me anymore.
