Chapter Four:Old Friends Not Forgotten

Start from the beginning

"Me," Thor asked.

"Yes."

"So, it's someone you know," I say.

"I'm pretty sure everyone knew me," Thor says.

"True. You were the king of Asgard. They could be a friend though. Someone you knew and were close to."

"That could be it."

"Possibly."

Thor remained quiet. Now the whole car is quiet. I'm staring out the window. Talking about my parents reminds of the day they gave me to Loki.

~~Flashback~~

My parents are taking me somewhere. We'be been walking for a while now. Suddenly they stop. I stand behind them. We're standing infront of a door. This place isn't familiar. Then again I wasn't paying attention to where we were headed.

"Where are we," I ask.

They dont answer. Usually they would've. They're not the type to ignore people.

My father steps forward. He knocks on the door then steps back. A few seconds later the door opens. I'm taken back by who answers. Loki answered.

"Come in," Loki says.

My parents enter first, being that they were standing infront of me. I begin to walk in after them. Loki greets me with a smile. I slightly smile back. After walking in Loki closes the door behind me. He walks to stand next to me.

"Shall we sit," Loki asked.

"Oh, um, I guess," I say.

Loki walks with me down a hall. At the end of the hall is a door. Loki opened it for me. I walk in with him behind me. There's two black couches in the middle of the room. A brown table is inbetween the couches. My parents are sitting with their backs facing us. I suppose that means I'm sitting with Loki.

I walk to the opposing couch. I sit across from my mom. Loki comes over and sits next to me. He's sitting on the edge. I, on the other hand am leaning into it.

"Are you sure that you want to do this? I'll take care of her. I promise I will," Loki says.

Take care of who? Me? If so, what for? What are my parents doing?

"We're sure. Just take good care of her," My mother says.

"What's going on," I ask.

No answer. Typical. No one evers answers me.

Loki looks at me. He has a grin on his face. His eyes are full of admiration. Why would he be admiring me?

"She'll be looked after. I'll make sure that she grows into a fine young lady," Loki says.

"Thank you. You have proven better than your brother Thor," My father says.

"Then I graciously accept your offer," Loki says.

My parents and Loki stand up. They shake hands. I still have no idea what's going on.

My parents walk over to me. I stand up.

"What's going on," I ask a second time.

I'm ignored again.

"After today you can't see her again. It'll only interfere," Loki says.

"We understand," My father says.

My mother hugs me. Before I can hug her back she releases me. My father just offers his hand. I shake it.

"We should get going," My father says.

"Ok," My mother says.

They walk out. I'm tempted to go after them. I turn to Loki.

"Seriously, tell me what's going on," I say.

"Your parents gave you up," Loki causally replies.

"They what?"

"They gave you to me."

~~End of flashback~~

Loki spent an hour explaining that my parents left me. That they were gone. For the first few weeks I didn't know what to think. More of confusion. It eventually turned to pained. I felt abandoned. Which I was. Most nights I was restless. The nights I did sleep ended up waking up from a nightmare. Every nightmare I had Loki was there. He comforted me. I remember the many nights he spent comforting me. I'd be crying into his chest while he cradled me in his arms. He didn't lie when he said he'd take care of me. Loki made sure I was ok. You'd think I would realize how Loki was becoming. He took a child. Well he was offered it. Still, he could've said no. He took a child who already had a family. Doesn't matter now.

I've only had one thought about Loki, the caring big brother. That's how I felt he was. He cared and comforted me. Even as I got older, I only saw him like that it. But, people change. Loki was one of them. I just wished he stayed the same. He was fine the way he was.

"Are you ok," Thor asked me.

I looked at him with a clenched jaw. His face is full of concern. I shook my head dismissively.

"I'm fine," I lied.

I wasn't trying not only convince Thor, but myself. I want to be ok. Telling myself will work, maybe.

"No, you're not. I know when you're lying," Thor says.

"And? I know when you are. So, that makes two of us," I reply.

"That doesn't matter."

"Thor, not today. We can have this conversation another day. Just not today. We need to focus on what's going on now. We can't linger in the past," I say.

Thor just looks at me. I bite my lip. He wants to help. I know he does. I just don't want to talk at this moment.

"We're here," Slater says.

The car stops. We're at another base. I get out. Everyone else soon follows. Slater and Ramirez lead us. They lead us into the building. It had the same fake office look. We get in an elevator. It wasn't long before we reached the 7th floor. Slater and Ramirez walked out first. Thor and I followed. We walked down a long hallway. Ramirez opened the door. Slater walked in. I followed then Thor did. I assume Ramirez was behind him.

"Through that door," Slater said whilst pointing.

He was pointing across the room. A plain white door is there. Two agents are waiting outside it. Thor and I walk up to the door. One of the agents opens it. I walk in with Thor behind me. I stop in my tracks. Thor bumps into me.

"Sorry about-," Thor starts but stops.

He sees what I see. This can't be. They're really here. Standing infront of me.

"Sif," Thor asked.

"And the warriors three," I asked after him.
